The present invention relates to a computer-implemented method, a system, an apparatus and a non-transitory computer-readable medium including software that make use of a calculation of electrostatics data from reflectance data in spectrophotometric analysis for efficient pigment identification in an unknown target coating. The present invention is particularly useful for reliably matching the texture and/or gonioapparent effect(s) occurring within an unknown target coating.

A computer implemented method. The method includes obtaining, using a processor, spectral reflectance data (10) from a coated surface having a target coating theron; and determining (18), using the processor, whether the data includes any outlier data points (20). The method also includes removing (22), using the processor, at least one of the outlier data points to produce final spectral reflectance data (32); and calculating (34), using the processor, a characteristic of the target coating based at least in part on the final spectral reflectance data.

The invention relates to simplified portable method of measuring light sources by limiting the number of parameters to measured for example to one plane of radiation where know characteristics are preselected or default selected to be used to calculated combined output. Further more is light measurements combined with power calculation and control where phase of supply current is used to obtain light source flickering, determine dimmable. Further more can an imaging recording device be used to further enhance the measurements.

Ein Handmessgerät für Appearance Analysen enthält eine Messanordnung (MA), die eine Anzahl von Beleuchtungseinrichtungen (21-27) zur Beaufschlagung eines Messfelds mit Beleuchtungslicht in mindestens drei Beleuchtungsrichtungen und eine Anzahl von Aufpickeinrichtungen (31-33) zur Erfassung des Messlichts in mindestens einer Beobachtungsrichtung umfasst. Die Beleuchtungsrichtungen und die Beobachtungsrichtungen liegen in einer gemeinsamen System-Ebene (SP). Mindestens eine Aufpickeinrichtung (32) ist zur örtlich integralen spektralen Ausmessung des Messlichts und mindestens eine Aufpickeinrichtung (33) ist zur örtlich aufgelösten farblichen Ausmessung des Messlichts ausgebildet. Die spektrale Aufpickeinrichtung (32) und die örtlich auflösende Aufpickeinrichtung (33) sind so angeordnet, dass sie das vom Messfeld zurückgestrahlte Messlicht unter denselben Beobachtungsbedingungen und insbesondere aus derselben Beobachtungsrichtung empfangen.
