摘要: A method and a system of electrowinning, in an electrolytic tank, a metal from an electrolyte that contains a metallic salt. In the method, a diaphragm fabric is selected as the material of the anode bag from a group of diaphragm fabrics with different permeabilities, the dependences of the permeability of the diaphragm fabric on the viscosity of the catholyte and the pressure difference used are defined. On the basis of the defined dependences, the exit velocity of the anolyte from the anode bag is adjusted by the current density that is used, the pressure difference and the viscosity of the catholyte, so that an acid content of the anolyte of at least 50 g/1 is obtained. In the system, a fabric wherein the dependences of its permeability on the viscosity of the catholyte and the pressure difference used are known is selected as the diaphragm fabric of the anode bag from a group of diaphragm fabrics with different permeabilities. The exit velocity of the anolyte is adjusted by the current density used, the pressure difference and the viscosity of the catholyte, so that the acid content of the anolyte that is removed from the anode bag is at least 50 g/1.

摘要: A method of recycling useful metals is provided. The method enables useful metals including indium, zinc, yttrium, europium, lanthanum, terbium, gadolinium, antimony, lead, copper, tin, and silver to be recovered from wastes, such as wasted flat panel displays, and recycled economical with small energy consumption. The method of recycling useful metals includes: a step in which wastes comprising various flat panel displays, e.g., liquid-crystal display panels, are crushed/powdered; a step in which the resultant particles are dissolved in an aqueous hydrofluoric acid solution; and a step in which various metal oxides and various metal fluorides which remain undissolved are filtered off and the aqueous hydrofluoric acid solution containing various metal ions is electrolyzed to deposit and recover metals for transparent-electrode oxides, such as indium and zinc, and other useful metals.

摘要: A system, device, and method include a cell-powered first electronic device powered using electrical potential imposed across an electrolytic cell. The potential is voltage-boosted to accomplish this task. If the electrical potential imposed the cell is insufficient, the device can also be battery-powered. In any event, this device is in communication with one or ore sensors in the electrolytic cell, as well as a second electronic device, and the first and second electronic devices wirelessly communicate. More specifically, the first electronic device wireless transmits data signals to the second electronic device, which receives the same. The first and second electronic devices are physically remote from one another, and they communicating over a private or public network, preferably using spread spectrum technology. In addition, the second electronic device also preferably transmits data signals to a computer for further processing of the data signals, and these arrangements can be used, for example, when producing copper.

摘要: The invention relates to an element (300) for handling an anode connector (200) which is equipped with two lateral trunnions (212, 212') and a clamping screw (210). According to the invention, the aforementioned connector can co-operate with the hook fasteners (10, 10') of a cell (1) for the production of aluminium by means of fused-salt electrolysis, such that anodes can be connected to said cell. Moreover, the inventive element comprises a clamping member (302) which can co-operate with the clamping screw (210) of the connector, such as to alter the clamping condition thereof. The invention is characterised in that it comprises a locking system (310, 310', 320) which can co-operate with the clamping member (302) and the connector (200), such as to lock the latter in a determined position, known as the normal position, in the handling element (300) by loosening the connector using the clamping member. The invention is further characterised in that it also comprises at least one mobile member (312, 312') having an open position and a closed position and in that each mobile member (312, 312') consists of: a support (313, 313') which can support the connector (200) in the closed position, typically by means of the above-mentioned lateral trunnions (212, 212'); and a means (315, 315') for moving each mobile member (312, 312') from the closed position to the open position. The invention prevents a connector from being dropped during the handling thereof.
