    wherein R is H or CH 3 , R 1 is H or an alkyl group containing 1 to 4 carbon atoms, and n is a number in the range 4 to 200, and (c) a potassium salt. In the case of tetra- and higher molecular weight polyalkylene glycols, there is a synergistic clay-stablising effect between these compounds and the potassium salt.

    摘要: Olefin polymerization catalysts capable of polymerizing olefins such as ethylene to polyolefins with broad molecular weight distributions are made by depositing on an oxide suport (or especially phosphate derivative thereof) (i) a chromium complex of formula RCr-L, where R is optionally substituted pentadienyl or cyclopentadienyl and L is a reactive ligand, or a bis arene chromium and (ii) a metal complex of formula MR³ R⁴ R⁵ R⁶ wherein M is Ti, Zr or Hf, and R³-R⁶ can be allyl (when M is Zr or Hf) or of 4-20 carbons of formula (a) CH₂ X (R⁷ R⁸ R⁹) where X = C, Si or Ge and R⁷-R⁹ are hydrocarbyl, or (b) CH₂ Ar where Ar is optionally substituted aromatic, or said metal complex is of formula Ti R¹¹ R¹², where R¹¹ and R¹² are acyclic dienyl.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a process and a device for introducing a catalytically active powder into a reactor (20) for gas phase alpha-olefin polymerization. The device comprises a storage vessel (3) containing the powder, a metering valve (4) delivering metered quantities of the powder into an intermediate chamber (5) comprising at least one obstacle (6) separating an upper part (5a) of the chamber (5) comprising an auxiliary gas inlet (2a) from a lower part (5b) terminated by an outlet orifice (5c). A connecting pipe (18) connects the outlet orifice (5c) to a mixing device (8) situated on a conveying pipework (15) communicating with the reactor (20). The powder is introduced into the reactor in a dilute suspension form and in a more uniform rate.

    摘要: A method for recovering the surfactant from a dispersion or emulsion of oil and water containing a temperature sensitive surfactant which method comprises the steps of heating the dispersion or emulsion to a temperature above the cloud point of the surfactant under conditions of temperature and aqueous phase salinity such that the dispersion or emulsion breaks and separates into an oil layer, an aqueous layer and a surfactant layer, and recovering the surfactant layer.
    The recovered surfactant may be recycled for use in preparing further quantities of dispersion or emulsion, thus rendering the operation more economic.

    摘要: Water soluble polymers from acrylic acid optionally with other monomers have a narrow molecular weight distribution and are made by continuous loop polymerisation particular in the presence of sodium chlorate and sodium metabisulphite as redox initiator. The loop polymerisation gives more uniform product than batch operation and the narrow molecular weight distribution gives polyacrylates useful in water treatment, scale inhibition and as dispersants.
