摘要:
A powder comprising hydrolyzable resin particle, containing particles which do not pass through a sieve having an opening size of 500 µm in an amount of 50 mass% or more and having a repose angle of 51° or more. This powder is preferably used as an additive for drilling to enhance the drilling properties of a drilling fluid and improve the retentivity of a fracture extending from a winze.

Method for inhibiting the hydration of clays and shales during drilling operations comprising the use of a water base drilling fluid, which contains from 0.2 to 5 % by weight of the condensation product of a dicarboxylic acid having 4 to 10 carbon atoms with alkanolamines, diamines or polyalkyleneamines of formula R''R'N-R'-XH, where X is O or NR0; R0 is hydrogen or a linear or branched alkyl group having from 1 to 6 carbon atoms, R' is a linear or branched, aliphatic or cicloaliphatic alkylene group having from 2 to 10 carbon atoms or R' is R””(NH-R””)n where R”” is ethylene or CH(CH3)CH2, n is a number from 1 to 6 and X is NR0; R' and R'' can be equal or different from one another and are hydrogen or a linear or branched alkyl group having from 1 to 6 carbon atoms, optionally substituted with a hydroxyl group, the condensation product being in neutral form or in the form of salt.
摘要:
A water-base fluid for use in drilling, cementing, workover, fracturing and abandonment of subterranean wells through a formation containing shale which swells in the presence of water. In one illustrative embodiment, the drilling fluid is composed of an aqueous based continuous phase, a weighting agent, and a shale hydration inhibition agent. The shale hydration inhibition agent should have the general formula (I): in which R and R' independently selected from hydrogen, methyl, ethyl or propyl, and X has a value from 1 to 6. The shale hydration inhibition agent is present in sufficient concentration to substantially reduce the swelling of shale drilling cuttings upon contact with the drilling fluid. The drilling fluid may be formulated to include a wide variety of components of aqueous based drilling fluids, such as weighting agents, fluid loss control agents, suspending agents, viscosifying agents, rheology control agents, as well as other compounds and materials known to one of skill in the art. The fluids may also be used in fracturing and the disposal by reinjection of drilling cutting into a selected subterranean disposal formation.
摘要:
A water-base drilling fluid for use in drilling wells through a formation containing a shale which swells in the presence of water. The drilling fluid preferably includes: an aqueous based continuous phase, a weight material, and a shale hydration inhibition agent having the formula: H2N - R - {OR'}x - Y, in which R and R' are alkylene groups having 1 to to 6 carbon atoms and x is a value from about 1 to about 25. The Y group should be an amine or alkoxy group, preferably a primary amine or a methoxy group. The shale hydration inhibition agent should be present in sufficient concentration to reduce the swelling of the shale. Also inclusive of the present invention is a method of reducing the swelling of shale clay encountered during the drilling of a subterranean well, the method comprising circulating in the well a water-base fluid formulated in accordance with the present invention.

The invention relates to the use of straight chain and/or branched fatty alcohols with at least 12 C-atoms in the molecule and/or the use of the mixtures of such fatty alcohols with carboxylic acid esters as an additive with a lubricant effect in water-based drilling fluid systems for the use thereof in soil exploration. The fatty alcohol based lubricant or lubricant systems are especially suited for use in water-based alkaline silicate drilling fluid systems, characterized in a manner known per se by relatively high pH values of the aqueous drilling fluid system. The inventive additives combine a lubricant effect with antifroth action or prevention of undesired foam formation.
