摘要: Disclosed is a test strip for measuring tear production. The test strip comprises a generally flat sheet material having one end rounded to be semi-circular shaped and being printed with a folding line along which said strip is bent prior to the measurement operation. The test strip is further printed with graduation marks and a scale for indicating the amount of absorbed tear. In a preferred embodiment, provided at either one or both corners of the end opposite to the rounded end is a mark indicating that the particular test strip is used for measuring one of either the left or right eye. The sheet material is preferably made of filter paper. The test strip has no notched portion which would weaken the sheet material and yet may be folded precisely along the fold line prior to use. The graduation marks and scales printed on the test strip enable easy measurement of the length of the portion wetted by tear fluid.

摘要: The subject-matter of the invention is an implement for removing dental plaque and massaging gums in a form of a slender rod-like body of appropriate length comprising a fibrous structure obtained by bundling or bundling and bonding a plurality of fibers such as synthetic fibers in a longitudinal direction and a shell layer on the outer peripheral section of the fibrous structure. The shell layer is partly cut or ground to expose the fibrous layer in the interior thereof to form a brushing section. The fibrous layer may contain substances such as hygienically harmless alkali substances, surfactant, bactericide, deodorant, perfumes or the like.

摘要: A cartridge type dental injection device capable of easily and quickly mounting or removing a cartridge loaded barrel in or from a socket therein and capable of altering orientations of a viewing window in the barrel and of a cut surface of a needle as desired.
The cartridge type dental injection device comprises a barrel (9) adapted to be inserted in a socket (5) defined by a mounting member (5a) and having diametrically oppositee viewing windows (11) formed therein, the mounting member (5a) having a plurality of circumferentially spaced apart ball retaining holes (7), and a locking ball (8) placed in each of the holes, the barrel (9) being provided with an annular groove (12) adapted to receive a portion of each locking ball therein, and a locking ring (13) having an annular cam surface (14) and a relieving surface (15) positioned adjacent to each other and movable between a position where when the locking balls (8) are in alignment with the annular groove (12), the annular cam surface (14) pushes the locking balls (8) toward the annular groove (12) to bring portions of the locking balls into engagement with the annular groove and a position where the relieving surface (15) faces the locking balls (8) to release them from the annular groove (12).

摘要: A cephalosporinase testing agent comprising a cephalosporin antibiotic such as cephaloridin, a penicillinase inhibitor in an amount of 20 wt% or less based on the antibiotic, and a pH indicator such as bromocresol purple. A cephalosporinase producing bacterium can be judged by smearing a sample containing a test bacterium on the testing agent and observing the color tone change. According to this agent, a cephalosporinase-active penicillinase producing bacterium is judged cephalosporinase-negative by the action of a penicillinase inhibitor such as clavulanic acid. Therefore only a cephalosporinase producing bacterium is judged cephalosporinase-positive. Thus this agent is useful since it is free from misjudgment.

摘要: A dry gel composition containing 40 wt. % or less of an orally administrable medicine, 3 wt. % or more of a gelling agent and 5 wt. % or less of a binder and giving a porridgy aqueous gel composition when 1 part by weight thereof is mixed with 2 to 15 parts by weight of water at 40°C or below. An example of usable gelling agents is 50 wt. % or more of gelatinized starch, while examples of the orally administrable medicine include cinnarizine. When mixed with a given amount of water, the composition gives a homogeneous aqueous gel composition having a viscosity of around 100 to 500 cP and preferably a thixotropy. The aqueous gel composition can be readily swallowed even by the aged having a reduced swallowing function without being aspirated into the trachea, so that it is useful for the pharmacotherapy of the aged. In addition, it can be prepared in a short time in an extremely simplified manner just before the use.
