Abstract:
A method of making a fluoroelastomer composition includes curing a fluoroelastomer precursor composition under ambient pressure conditions resulting in a fluoroelastomer composition that is substantially free of surface bubbles. The fluoroelastomer precursor composition includes peroxide-curable fluoropolymer, an effective amount of peroxide consisting essentially of bis(2,4-dichlorobenzoyl) peroxide for curing the peroxide-curable fluoropolymer. The fluoroelastomer precursor composition is essentially free of non-fluorinated carbon particles. A method of making composite articles based on the method is also disclosed.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a composition comprising: a polyester base polymer; at least one non-polymeric oxidizable organic compound; at least one transition metal in a positive oxidation state, said metal being present in the composition in an amount of from 10 to 400 ppm, wherein the polyester base polymer comprises less than 30 ppm phosphorous. The compositions of the present invention do not exhibit an induction period prior to the onset of oxygen scavenging upon formation into a container.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a coating composition comprising: a) silanized colloidal silica particles; b) alkyd-containing binder; c) a carrier fluid, wherein the coating composition is essentially free from a cobalt-based drier. The present invention also relates to a method of producing a coating composition and the use of such coating composition for coating of a substrate.
Abstract:
A blend is disclosed comprising polyvinyl chloride (PVC) powder and trimethylolpropane trimethacrylate. This acrylate unexpectedly provides a very nice melt flux state during use in fluidized bed powder coating apparatus. The use of this acrylate in some embodiments allows a reduction of PVC and plasticizer in the blend. Coated metal articles using the blend include appliance components, outdoor furniture, and automotive parts.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a composition containing about 90% to about 30% of at least one amorphous thermoplastic or at least one semi crystalline thermoplastic or a mixture thereof and about 10% to about 70% of expanded graphite, wherein about 90% of the particles of the expanded graphite have a particle size of at least about 200 microns. The inventive compositions may find use in LED heat sink applications.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to new improved adhesives for binding books and related articles and the production of such adhesives. In particular, the adhesives have reduced content of monomeric diisocyanates or no monomeric diisocyanate content.
Abstract:
Abstract:
