The upper die (3) is closed onto the lower die (2) and the male plug (8) closes the shape and acts as a flow control element for the port (24) that provides a connection to the liquid metal input duct (10).

    摘要: A molten alloy capable of forming an amorphous alloy is subjected to solidification under a pressure of more than 1 atm. to form an alloy having no defect, and also the cooling rate during the solidification is controlled so as to disperse fine crystals having a mean crystal grain diameter of 1 nm to 50 mu m in a crystal volume percentage of 5 to 40 %, to thereby impart a uniform residual compression stress over the whole resultant amorphous alloy ingot. Further, an amorphous alloy ingot produced by this method can be strengthened by heating the alloy ingot at a specific temperature rising rate and rendering, in a supercooled liquid state before crystallization, at least one of boron, carbon, oxygen, nitrogen and fluorine to penetrate from its surface, to thereby precipitate a high melting point compound thereof with an element forming the amorphous alloy within the alloy ingot.

    摘要: A shaper (2) is arranged within a shaping vessel (1). A raw material for a crystal is inserted into the shaping vessel (1) and a crystal melt (5) is formed by setting it in a predetermined atmosphere and heating it. A mechanical force F1 is applied to the crystal melt (5), which is present on the upper surface of the shaper (2), by a pressuring member (4) from above. The crystal melt (5) has nowhere to escape but a gap (3) formed by the shaper( 2), so it is injected into that gap (3) as shown by the arrow. This method of fabricating a shaped crystal is suitable for fabricating a monocrystal or multicrystal semiconductor from a material such as silicon, germanium, or bismuth telluride.
