    摘要: An illuminated pushbutton swich cover member (11) has a key seat (13) and a resin key top (12). An indicator portion (17) provided in the resin key top (12) is illuminated with light from an internal light source (14b) provided below the key seat (13), and the light is emitted from the inside to the outside of the cover member (11) through the indicator portion (17). The cover member (11) is constructed by joining the resin key top (12) to the key seat (13). The key seat (13) is formed of a thermoplastic elastomer that prevents leakage of light, and an opening (13f) for passage of light is formed in the key seat (13) to expose the bottom side of the resin key top (12) to the internal light source (14b). Thus, light from the internal light source (14b) can reach the bottom side of the resin key top (12) directly without being attenuated. The indicator portion (17) of the resin key top (12) can therefore be illuminated with high luminance.

    摘要: A method of manufacturing a key top for a push-button switch (7,14,19,23,24,25) according to the present invention includes forming a hot-melt adhesive layer (3,11,16) on a resin key top (4) so as to have a shape corresponding to a display portion (5) for displaying a letter, symbol, or other indicia, and transferring a metallic thin film layer (2,12,17) onto the hot-melt adhesive layer (3,11,16). Therefore, the metallic thin film layer (2,12,17) is not damaged due to coating of the hot-melt adhesive layer (3,11,16), and positioning of the display portion (5) is unnecessary. Further, when a transfer resin layer is formed on the metallic thin film layer (2,12,17), oxidation of the metallic thin film layer (2,12,17) or damages thereto can be prevented.
