摘要: The method of sterilizing a packaging sheet material involves the steps of applying hydrogen peroxide to a packaging sheet material, and irradiating the packaging sheet material with light, including at least one UV wavelength between about 200nm and 320nm. The method also has an intermediate step of removing hydrogen peroxide from the packaging sheet material, after the step of applying hydrogen peroxide and before the step of irradiating the packaging material, whereby to target synergy between the UV light and hydrophilically absorbed hydrogen peroxide in any microorganisms present on the packaging sheet material. An apparatus for carrying out the method is also disclosed.

摘要: A method for decontaminating a biological safety cabinet with a falling film evaporator. The method includes the steps of: providing a falling-film evaporator within a cavity of a biological safety cabinet, the evaporator having a housing defining a cavity and an evaporation element is disposed in the cavity; conveying a liquid decontaminant from a source of liquid decontaminant to the evaporation element such that the liquid decontaminant flows along a surface of the evaporation element; conveying a carrier gas through the cavity of the housing wherein the carrier gas is conveyed along the surface of the evaporation element to evaporate the liquid decontaminant thereby forming a mixture of the carrier gas and the vaporized decontaminant; and exhausting the mixture into the cavity of the biological safety cabinet to decontaminate articles and surfaces in the cavity.

摘要: A method of packaging pre-filled medical devices is disclosed. The method comprises producing a packaging having a front panel and a back panel defining a compartment capable of holding one or more medical devices wherein at least one of the front panel or top panel has a portion containing a gas permeable material while the remaining portion of the pouch is gas impermeable. This gas permeable material allows gas to pass through the material and contact the one or more articles contained within the compartment or allows gas to pass through the gas permeable material from the inside of the compartment to the outside of the container. Upon completion of sterilization, the pouch is sealed and the gas permeable portion is cut away leaving the sterilized medical device enclosed in a completely gas impermeable pouch.

摘要: A method of sterilizing an article such as a flexible endoscope is performed in a sterilization chamber. A vacuum is applied in the sterilization chamber while the article is contained in the sterilization chamber. A sterilant is then introduced into the sterilization chamber. The pressure within the sterilization chamber is incrementally increased to provide a step-wise transition from a high vacuum state to atmospheric pressure. The article is thereby sterilized.
