摘要: An as-rolled type K55 electric resistance welded oil well pipe includes, in terms of % by mass, 0.30 to 0.50% of C, 0.05 to 0.40% of Si, 0.50 to 1.20% of Mn, 0 to 0.030% of P, 0 to 0.020% of S, 0.002 to 0.080% of Al, 0 to 0.0080% of N, 0 to 0.30% of Cu, 0 to 0.30% of Ni, 0 to 0.30% of Cr, 0 to 0.10% of Mo, 0 to 0.10% of V, 0 to 0.050% of Nb, 0 to 0.030% of Ti, 0 to 0.0100% of Ca, and the balance being Fe and impurities. In the pipe, a metallographic structure at a position of 1/4 of a pipe thickness in an L cross-section at a base metal 90° position is a ferrite-pearlite structure in which prior γ-grains are flattened, includes grain boundary ferrite and intragranular ferrite, and has a rate of a total area of the grain boundary ferrite and the intragranular ferrite, of 10 to 30%.

摘要: Provided is a steel plate that has excellent strength and toughness in a mid-thickness part thereof, despite having a plate thickness of 100 mm or greater. The steel plate has a chemical composition that contains specific amounts of C, Si, Mn, P, S, Cr, Ni, Al, N, B, and O, with the balance being Fe and incidental impurities, and that has an equivalent carbon content Ceq IIW of 0.65 or greater. Furthermore, the steel plate has a yield strength of 620 MPa or greater, a plate thickness of 100 mm or greater, and has a microstructure in which prior ³ grain size in a mid-thickness part of the steel plate has a maximum value, expressed as an equivalent circle diameter, of 150 µm or less, and a total area ratio of martensite and bainite in the mid-thickness part is 80% or greater.

摘要: Provided are: a high-speed tool steel having excellent hot workability, and excellent damage resistance when being made into various tools; a material for tools, and a method for producing a material for tools. The high-speed tool steel contains, in mass%, 0.9-1.2% of C, 0.1-1.0% of Si, 1.0% or less of Mn, 3.0-5.0% of Cr, 2.1-3.5% of W, 9.0-10.0% of Mo, 0.9-1.2% of V, 5.0-10.0% of Co, 0.020% or less of N, and the balance being Fe and impurities, wherein an M value calculated by a formula satisfies -1.5 ≤ M value ≤ 1.5. Formula: M value = -9.500 + 9.334[%C] - 0.275[%Si] - 0.566[%W] - 0.404[%Mo] + 3.980[%V] + 0.166[%Co], where the characters in brackets [] indicate the contained amounts (mass%) of the respective elements. The present invention also pertains to: a material for tools, which is obtained by using the high-speed tool steel; and a method for producing the material for tools.

The warm-workable high-strength steel sheet has a chemical composition including, in mass%, C: 0.05 to 0.20%, Si: not more than 3.0%, Mn: 3.5 to 8.0%, P: not more than 0.100%, S: not more than 0.02%, Al: 0.01 to 3.0% and N: not more than 0.010%, the balance being Fe and inevitable impurities. The steel sheet has a microstructure which includes, in area fractions, 10 to 60% retained austenite, 10 to 80% ferrite, 5 to 50% martensite and 0 to 5% bainite, the C content in the retained austenite being less than 0.40 mass%. The manufacturing method yields such steel sheets.-

摘要: To improve the stiffness of a thin single layer or mono-sheet of steel, a composite steel comprising at least two outer steel layers separated with a spacer. Spacer materials can include any metal less dense than steel, or a polymer or resin, optionally comprising a carbon or glass fiber, or Kevlar material. Such a composite steel can yield a higher stiffness than a mono-sheet of steel having the same total sheet thickness. For instance, moving the steel material away from the neutral axis with the spacer can increase the strain on bending to provide a high strength composite steel that maintains stiffness while also providing desirable weight savings.
