The system, apparatus and method of the present invention provide telecommunication conferencing services in a multiple leg telecommunication session. One of the system embodiments includes a database (220) and a switching center (205,215). The database (220) has stored in a memory a plurality of secondary directory numbers and a conference parameter associated with a primary directory number. The switching center has an interface for receiving an incoming call leg designating the primary directory number and for determining whether the primary directory number and its associated plurality of secondary directory numbers are configured for a conference mode. When so configured for the conference mode, the switching center (205,215) includes further instructions to process and route each outgoing call leg associated with each secondary directory number of the plurality of secondary directory numbers to form a plurality of outgoing call legs, to monitor answering of the plurality of outgoing call legs, and to connect an answered outgoing call leg, of the plurality of outgoing call legs, to the incoming call leg for a multiple leg telecommunication conferencing session.

An interface unit (40) is provided between the mobile telecommunications network (20) and the wireline network (30) at a node of the mobile telecommunications network (20). Services of the mobile telecommunication network (20) to and from a subscriber's fixed terminal (45-47) are provided through the interface (40) and the wireline network (30). The wireline network (30) may be a public service telephone network.

A communication system is provided that uses loosely-coupled client-server architectures to improve the efficiency of communications. The communication system includes client and facilitator applications. The client application is a component of processor-based mobile communication devices. The facilitator application is hosted on one or more servers or other processor-based devices, and communicates with the client application via one or more couplings. The facilitator application can also be distributed among one or more portable processor-based devices including the communication devices hosting the client application. The communication system improves efficiency of voice communications by allowing communication device users to dynamically manage how and when mobile calls take place, intelligently screen calls based on caller identity, urgency, and subject matter, determine which contacts in a directory are available to talk and which ones choose not to be disturbed, and increase accessibility of enterprise and personal contact information from mobile phones.

The E-CSCF (50) receives the INVITE message through an eNB (30) and determines a PSAP of a connection target of the emergency call based on the received INVITE message. When there are multiple emergency call categories (for example, Fire and Ambulance) associated with an emergency telephone number allocated to the PSAP, the UE (20) transmits the INVITE message including P-Emergency-Sub-Category indicating the multiple emergency call categories to the E-CSCF (50). The call control unit determines the PSAP based on the multiple emergency call categories included in the received INVITE message.

A method and apparatus for steering location requests to a serving one of a plurality of possible location positioning devices. A location request may be steered base on an emergency status of the location request, whether or not the subscriber device has a valid data plan established, based on the device type of the wireless device, or based on the type of application running on the wireless device. A location request may also be steered to a fallback location device if a steering to a primary selected location device fails and sufficient time remains to locate via the fallback location device.
