Um den Grill in einer Wärmebildumgebung möglichst unsichtbar zu machen, überragt der Rahmen (5) den Grill (4) nach aussen (6) und er besteht aus einem Hohlprofil, das einen Strömungskanal mit einer Eintritts- und einer Austrittsöffnung (8,9) bildet, wobei zwischen Eintritts- und Austrittsöffnung ein Druckgefälle herrscht. Dieses kann durch ein externes oder internes Gebläse (11) hergestellt werden.

A combine harvester (1) adapted for use in surroundings contaminated with inflammable debris such as chaff, straw particles, dust, etc... comprises a power plant (10) including an internal combustion engine (51) and an engine cooling apparatus (56). The cooling apparatus (56) comprises a radiator (57), a fan (58) and a rotary air filter (59). The engine (51) is encased within a funnel shaped structure (61) sealingly connected at one end to the radiator (57) and having, at its opposite end, an outlet (66) which is disposed within the vicinity of the engine power take off (52); the arrangement being such that cooling air urged through the radiator (57) by the fan (58) also passes through the funnel shaped structure (61) a.o. for keeping the vicinity of the engine (51) clear of inflammable debris. Channel means (71) are operatively associated with the radiator (57) to capture part of the used cooling air passing therethrough and to direct this air towards and across an engine service platform (42) in the form of an air curtain to keep this platform (42) free of any accumulation of inflammable debris.

Le dispositif accessoire d'entrainement comprend un moteur hydraulique de ventilateur mis en serie avec un mecanisme de direction assiste hydrauliquement. La pompe hydraulique du mecanisme de direction constitue l'unique source de pression hydraulique dont la pression X est sensiblement plus grande que la pression Z necessaire au mecanisme de direction. Une vanne de by pass sensible a la temperature est placee en parallele avec le moteur du ventilateur de sorte que les deux flux de fluide se recombinent pour alimenter un organe de commande du mecanisme de direction qui fournit a celui-ci une pression Z, le fluide supplementaire etant devie vers l'entree de la pompe hydraulique. Cette disposition a pour effet que la relation entre la vitesse du ventilateur et la vitesse du moteur du vehicule est analogue a une "courbe visqueuse". En outre, le dispositif autorise le fonctionnement simultane du moteur de ventilateur et de la direction assistee sans que les exigences en debit de fluide de l'un affecte le debit fourni a l'autre, les pressions de fluides etant complementaires, c'est-a-dire que la chute de pression dans le moteur de ventilateur est minimum quand la charge imposee par la direction assistee est au maximum.
