摘要: In a lift installation in which a multi-beam curtain (primary beam) extends across a lift car door opening, auxiliary transmitters direct secondary beams towards a detection zone in front of landing doors. The multi-beam curtain is intercepted by a passenger entering the lift to prevent premature door closure. However, premature closure is also prevented when a passenger stands in front of the landing doors, thereby causing some of the secondary beam to be reflected onto auxiliary receivers. This provides a low cost solution to the problem of non-detection of an obstruction in the closing path of the landing doors, but not intercepting the primary beam system and also provides an increase in the passenger convenience of the lift, as the doors are held open for a passenger approaching the lift, but not yet interrupting the primary beams.

摘要: A wave transmitter covers a predetermined spatial sensing field and a reflected wave receiver controls an automatic device such as an automatic door. A radiating antenna with an elongate body has a number of radiating elements arranged lengthwise along the elongate body, each of said radiating elements being sized and arranged so that the antenna radiates in planes which are substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the elongate body. Said radiating antenna advantageously provides sensing in a preferred direction. In one embodiment, the antenna consists of a slotted waveguide having slots on one side surface thereof and a wave transceiver at one end of the waveguide. The slots are arranged at a predetermined angle, preferably alternately in one direction and in the opposite direction so that the radiated waves are in phase. The slot angle may vary along the antenna, either between individual slots or between groups of slots or elements.

摘要: In elevators or lifts, sensing systems are mounted on two doors which move towards and away from sone another to detect obstructions in the opening between them. This ensures the safety of persons using the lifts. The two systems are electrically linked to receive a power supply and to effect data transfer between them. Because the doors are continually in motion the conductors concerned are subject to continual flexure. The more conductors there are, the higher the risk of damage to at least one of them. The present invention relates to a two conductor transmission system for transmitting power and data between two stations. The system comprises first station linked to a second station by only first and second conductors (75A,75B). The first station includes a DC source (72) for supplying the first and second conductors (75A,75B) with DC power, a synchronisation pulse generator (69), a first modulator for modulating the DC power fed to the conductors with the synchronisation pulses, a data terminal connected to said first conductor for receiving data transmitted from the second station, and first inhibiting means (70) responsive to the synchronisation pulses to inhibit the passage of data to the data terminal during the transmission of synchronisation pulses. The second station comprises data signal generating means connected to the first and second conductors (75A,75B) to receive DC power and synchronisation signals therefrom, the data signal generating means being arranged to generate data signals indicative of a monitored condition, a second modulator for modulating the DC power flowing along the first conductor (75A) in response to the generated data signals, and second inhibiting means responsive to the data signals generated to render the data signal generating means insensitive to the data signals appearing on the first conductor (75A).

摘要: A movable door incorporates a proximity detection system for sensing obstructions in the path of the door. The system comprises an array of transmitter/receiver pairs (21, 22 and 23), each pair comprising a transmitter (1) for transmitting an energy pulse, a receiver (2) located adjacent the transmitter and directed to receive any reflected transmitter pulses, and a shielding (3) for shielding the receiver (2) from receiving energy pulses directly from the transmitter (1). At least two transmitter/receiver pairs (21, 23) are mounted on a leading edge or face of the door (12) to transmit energy pulses in a direction which is not at right angles to the leading surface or edge of the door, to monitor for obstructions in the path of the door (12). Another two transmitter/receiver pairs (26 and 28) are mounted on the leading edge or surface of the door (12) to transmit energy pulses at right angles to the surface or edge of the door (12). One of the latter two receiver pairs (26) has a different response to the other pair (27) so that when the door (12) approaches a stationary object the one pair (26) detects the object ahead of the other pair (27). Means are provided to respond to the output of the one pair (26) indicating the detection of an object to inhibit the output of the other pair (27). Different transmitter/receiver pairs may transmit on different frequencies, and means for suppressing unwanted reflected signals is provided. Means for transmitting data signals on a two conductor power supply cable for the system is also disclosed.
