摘要:
A long molding capable of preventing an unintentional bending from occurring and being installed properly along the shape of an installed portion, wherein a molding main body (121) of the long molding (120) is formed of two or more plastic formed bodies having different mold shrinkage rates which are combined longitudinally with each other at least in a part of the longitudinal direction, two or more bent parts (120a, 120b, 120c) having different curvatures are formed in contact longitudinally with each other at least at a part of the molding main body formed of the two or more plastic formed bodies, and a structure in the cross-section formed of the two or more plastic formed bodies as viewed in the lateral cross-section of the molding main body is different between the two bent parts in contact with each other out of the two or more bent parts.

A continuous length or flow of a malleable or fluent material is provided to a forming apparatus which shapes the material, producing a contiguous series of smoothly blended, properly contoured portions of the desired shape. The formation of a shape relies on continuous control of shape-determining variables: instantaneous cross section of the shape in a virtual transition surface between the formable and formed material, rate-of-change of cross sectional dimensions between sequential cross sections, instantaneous angle of movement of the material at any point on the cross section in the transition surface, and rate of movement away from the transition surface of the just-stabilized portion of the shape. The material is stabilized as these shape-determining variables achieve the proper values in each portion of the material. Analyzing and modifying a computer model of a desired shape, and developing a process control datafile from the models.

A bent pipe forming apparatus for extruding and forming a fluid material into an annular member having a central mandrel (22) and a die (21) defining an annular gap between the mandrel (22) and the die (21), wherein one of the mandrel (22) and the die (21) is supported to move in a direction perpendicular to an axis of the mandrel (22). The movable mandrel (22) or die (21) is provided on its outer periphery with a guide circular surface (XX) integral therewith. An inner movable ring (4) having inner and outer circular peripheries eccentric to each other is rotatably fitted on the guide surface. An outer movable ring (5) having inner and outer circular peripheries eccentric to each other is rotatably fitted on the periphery of the inner movable ring (4). The outer movable ring (5) is provided with an outer circular peripheries which is rotatably fitted in a stationary circular guide surface (YY). Driving motors (12a, 12b) are provided to independently move the inner and outer movable rings (4, 5).

An assembly and method for processing extrudate material containing curves or angles into a predetermined overall configuration, including having a die assembly (12) for an extruder which controls the cross-sectional shape or profile of the extrudate and selectively varies the path of the extrudate as it leaves the die assembly. A support member (42) is provided which has a predetermined overall configuration and profile to receive the extrudate and maintain its configuration. A driving apparatus (16) is also provided for continuously driving either the support member (42) or the die assembly (12) relative to the other while the extrudate is being received in the support member (42), and until the entire predetermined overall configuration has been completed. The path of the extrudate is variably directed by the die assembly (12) as it leaves the extruder in coordination with the relative speeds involved to conform the extrudate configuration to the predetermined overall configuration of the support member (42).

Die assemblies and extension methods for causing extrudate to bend without substantially changing its cross-sectional shape. Extrudate passes from an extruder down a feed channel (19) opening into a divergent flow channel (21) to the front die opening (32). Means are provided, e.g. by having feed channel (19) and flow channel (21) defined in separate, relatively rotatable parts (16,13)), for varying the relative lengths of flow pathway, from the feed opening (20) to opposing sides of the die opening (32), sufficiently to cause controlled bending of extrudate.

Plasticized polyvinyl butyral sheet optionally containing a gradient color band is formed by continuously extruding a sheet having a predetermined region across its width formed from melt issuing from a die at an increased mass flow rate in comparison with other portions of the melt forming the rest of the sheet and then forwardly distorting such sheet immediately after forming by preferentially stretching the side containing the predetermined region to form an arcuate shape of substantially uniform thickness. Arcuately shaped sections are then cut from the sheet to form discrete, shaped interlayer blanks having improved thickness uniformity and dimensional stability providing improved performance when used in laminated safety glass.
