摘要: An improved table (10) for use in a truss assembly apparatus is provided. The improved table (10) includes a frame supporting a plurality of panels (12) that define a work surface. According to a first aspect, the plurality of panels (12) are separated by at least one opening (14) extending across the table. Mountings (50) are provided for rotationally mounting a lead screw across the table along the opening between the panels. At least one jig stop carrier (54) is threadedly coupled to the lead screw and movable along the lead screw in the opening between the panels across the table in response to rotation of the lead screw. A jig stop (28) is connected to the jig stop carrier and to project above the work surface of the table.

摘要: A gantry press adjustment apparatus for vertically adjusting a parallel gantry press (10) with respect to a work surface (77). The gantry press has a rigid frame with a first side frame portion (12) and a second side frame portion (14), and a press roller (16) mounted therebetween. Each side frame portion has first and second generally parallel vertical members (28, 30). The adjustment apparatus has first and second planar members (40) which are adapted to receive and support the axle (60) of the press roller. The planar members are slidably mounted along a vertical axis of the frame portions. First vertical adjustment members (100, 200) are connected to the first side frame portion and to the first planar member, and second vertical adjustment members (300, 400) are connected to the second side frame portion and to the second planar member. A drive (134) is connected with each of the adjustment members to adjust each member at a substantially equivalent rate.

摘要: This invention relates to an apparatus for assembling roof trusses. Known apparatus suffer from the drawbacks that the erection or preparing of an assembly jig before truss fabrication can begin is cumbersome and time consuming. The above problems are solved by providing a multi-section assembly table with narrow, parallel, elongated openings (20, 20a, 20b, 20c, 26, 27, 28, 29) in each section. Jig stops (31, 32, 33, 34) are individually adjustable along these openings (20-29) by respective lead screws (51) driven by stepper motors (47). The motors (47) are controlled from a computer (132) to automatically position the jig stops (31-34) in accordance with a particular truss design. The apparatus has conveyor roller carriers (61) between the sections of the assembly table which are raised to lift a completed truss up from the table, so that it can be slid off the table.
