The present invention provides a method of manufacturing a shell component for an aircraft or spacecraft. The method comprises a step of positioning a skin panel (102), which includes a skin (104) of the aircraft or spacecraft and first and second stringers (111,112) stiffening the skin, opposite a frame (106) having first and second mouseholes (121,122) for receiving the first and second stringers, a step of elastically bending the skin panelm (102), a step of inserting the first stringer (111) into the first mousehole (121), and a step of releasing the elastic bend to insert the second stringer (112) into the second mousehole (122). The wall frame assembly table (10; 110) can be configured for construction of wall frames (W; W'; W'') of different shapes and sizes. The table (10; 110) is constructed to inhibit the accumulation of debris on the table (10; 110) for consistently accurate placement of the wall frame elements (B, T, S, J, C. H. O, D). Locating pins (34D, 36D; 134D, 136D) along the sides of the table (10; 110) engaging the wall frame elements (B, T, S, J, C, H. O, D) can be selectively removed as needed for driving nails through the elements (B, T, S, J, C, H. O, D). An adjustable support (40; 140) is provided for the top plate (T) of the wall frame (W; W'; W'') which can be extended to different distances from an edge of the table (10; 110) for walls of different height. In addition, the adjustable support (40; 140) can be angled in correspondence with a wall frame (W; W'; W'') which has a top plate (T) extending to an angle relative to the bottom plate (B). A laser projection system may be used to locate the elements (B, T, S, J, C, H, O, D) of the wall frame (W; W'; W''). This invention relates to an apparatus for assembling roof trusses. Known apparatus suffer from the drawbacks that the erection or preparing of an assembly jig before truss fabrication can begin is cumbersome and time consuming. The above problems are solved by providing a multi-section assembly table with narrow, parallel, elongated openings (20, 20a, 20b, 20c, 26, 27, 28, 29) in each section. Jig stops (31, 32, 33, 34) are individually adjustable along these openings (20-29) by respective lead screws (51) driven by stepper motors (47). The motors (47) are controlled from a computer (132) to automatically position the jig stops (31-34) in accordance with a particular truss design. The apparatus has conveyor roller carriers (61) between the sections of the assembly table which are raised to lift a completed truss up from the table, so that it can be slid off the table.
