To provide a convenient and effective method for suppressing the penetration of dendrite over the microporous film mainly containing the base portion, which occupies the most part of the entire separator (total area), rather than the peculiar concept (resulting in a difficult measure), in which only the pore structure of the rib portion is densified or contracted for suppressing dendrite from penetrating through the rib portion. A separator for a lead-acid battery, containing a microporous film obtained in such a manner that a raw material composition mainly containing a polyolefin resin, silica powder, and a plasticizer is melt-kneaded and formed into a film, from which the plasticizer is entirely or partially removed, the raw material composition containing glass flakes having an average particle diameter of from 20 to 800 µm and an average thickness of 0.2 to 8 µm and having no self-film formability in an amount of from 2 to 15% by weight based on a total amount of the silica powder and the glass flakes, the glass flakes in the microporous film being disposed in such a manner that a plane direction thereof is substantially oriented in a plane direction of the microporous film, a value of (the content of the glass flakes in the microporous film) / (the average thickness of the glass flakes in the microporous film) being 1 or more.

The present invention provides a laminated glass to be used in a windshield of an automobile, and the laminated glass includes: an outer glass sheet; an inner glass sheet arranged opposite to the outer glass sheet, the inner glass sheet having a smaller thickness than that of the outer glass sheet; and an interlayer sandwiched between the outer glass sheet and the inner glass sheet. The interlayer includes at least a core layer and a pair of outer layers between which the core layer is sandwiched, the outer layers having a higher rigidity than that of the core layer. An attachment angle to the vertical with respect to the automobile is 45 degrees or more. The core layer has a Young's modulus of 1 to 25 MPa at a frequency of 100 Hz and a temperature of 20°C.

Provided is an anti-fogging coated transparent article including an anti-fog film, the anti-fog film being a single-layer film containing a water-absorbent resin, a hydrophobic group, and a metal oxide component. The hydrophobic group is a chain or cyclic alkyl group having 1 to 30 carbon atoms, preferably a linear alkyl group having 6 to 14 carbon atoms, in which at least one hydrogen atom is optionally substituted by a fluorine atom. The hydrophobic group is bonded directly to a metal atom of the metal oxide component. The anti-fog film contains, for example, the metal oxide component in an amount of 0.01 to 60 parts by mass and the hydrophobic group in an amount of 0.05 to 10 parts by mass per 100 parts by mass of the water-absorbent resin. The water-absorbent resin is, for example, polyvinyl acetal.

A multiple-glazed glass unit of the present invention is adapted to separate an indoor space and an outdoor space and includes a pair of glass panes opposed across a gap layer to be spaced at a predetermined distance from each other. Low-emissivity (Low-E) films are formed on both principal surfaces of one of the pair of glass panes that is located closer to the indoor space. The low-emissivity film formed on one of the two principal surfaces that faces the indoor space has an arithmetic average surface roughness Ra of 14 nm or less. This multiple-glazed glass unit is configurable to have a higher SHGC value ever than before as well as keeping a low U-value.

It is an object to improve the anti-fraying properties of rubber-reinforcing cords without significant reduction in productivity. The present invention provides a water-based treatment agent for forming a rubber-reinforcing cord having a coating. The water-based treatment agent includes a rubber latex, a crosslinking agent, and a filler. A content of the crosslinking agent is 50 parts by mass or more and 150 parts by mass or less per 100 parts by mass of solids contained in the rubber latex, and a content of the filler is more than 50 parts by mass and 80 parts by mass or less per 100 parts by mass of the solids contained in the rubber latex.

The glass sheet production method of the present invention includes the steps of: (I) bringing a mixed gas into contact with at least one surface of a sheet-shaped glass material so as to change a surface morphology of the glass material to an extent that light scattering properties of the glass material are changed, the mixed gas containing a fluorine element (F)-containing acid A and a chlorine element (Cl)-containing acid B and having a molar ratio of water to the acid A (molar concentration of water / molar concentration of acid A ) of less than 5, the glass material containing at least sodium as a component and having a temperature in a range from a glass transition temperature to a temperature 300°C higher than the glass transition temperature; and (II) cooling the sheet-shaped glass material obtained in the step (I) so as to obtain a glass sheet.

The present invention relates to a fiber processing agent for increasing the surface strength of a rubber product such as a rubber belt or a tire, a glass fiber using the fiber processing agent, and a rubber product as above containing the glass fiber. The fiber processing agent of the present invention is comprised of a dispersion-type solution having a rubber latex and an epoxy resin as dispersoids. By using a 2-dispersoid solution comprised of an epoxy resin, which is excellent in terms of strength and also has excellent heat resistance and water resistance, and a rubber latex, which is flexible, a glass fiber and a rubber product can be obtained according to which durability can be greatly increased without bringing about a drop in quality even under a poor environment.
