    摘要: A glass frit is prepared by heating an initial glass frit in the presence of a reducing agent so as to reduce metal moiety in the glass structure of the frit and then cooling the reaction mixture. Preferably, the frit prepared is used in a method of forming electrically conducting silver tracks on enamel on glass windows, by applying to window glass an enamel composition containing the frit and on top thereof a silver composition in the shape of the tracks and firing the compositions, such that on the firing the reduced metal moiety reduces silver ions migrating through the enamel composition from the silver composition to elemental silver and thereby prevents or impairs them from interacting with the glass to form visible tracks.

    摘要: A reaction comprising the oxidation of carbon monoxide to carbon dioxide, eg in vehicle exhausts, employs a catalyst composed of metal oxide, eg ceria, particles among which are uniformly incorporated noble metal particles, the particles having such a high interaction that, without hydrogen reduction pre-treatment, the catalyst exhibits the formation of anionic vacancies on the metal oxide surface at a temperature lower than does the corresponding catalyst prepared by impregnation. The catalyst employed is preferably prepared by co-precipitation.

    摘要: A method for neutralization of sulfuric acid containing Fe ions comprises adding ions selected from the group consisting of Na ions, K ions, Mg ions, Ca ions and NH₄ ions in the form of a compound containing chlorine to the sulfuric acid solution to be treated in an amount corresponding at least to the chemical equivalent to SO₄²⁻, and bringing the resultant solution into contact with an organic solvent containing oxygen or comprising alkylamine for extracting Fe ions from said aqueous solution into the organic phase as chloride complex. Iron chloride can be recovered from the organic phase by distilling or evaporating the organic solvent or by extraction back into water.
