摘要: The present invention provides a composite polymer electrolyte membrane that has a high proton conductivity even under low-humidity, low-temperature conditions, has a reduced dimensional change rate, has a high mechanical strength and high chemical stability, and serves to produce a solid polymer electrolyte fuel cell with a high output and high physical durability, and also provides a membrane electrode assembly and a solid polymer electrolyte fuel cell containing the same. This composite polymer electrolyte membrane contains a composite layer composed mainly of a polyazole-containing nanofiber nonwoven fabric (A) and an ionic group-containing polymer electrolyte (B), the polyazole-containing nanofiber nonwoven fabric (A) being basic.

摘要: A gas diffusion electrode comprising microporous layers on at least one side of an electrically conductive porous substrate, wherein said gas diffusion electrode has a thickness of 30 µm to 180 µm, said microporous layer has thickness of 10 µm to 100 µm, and when said surface of the microporous layer is observed for the area 0.25 mm 2 for 4000 viewing areas, the number of the viewing areas having a maximal height Rz of not less than 50 µm is, among the 4000 viewing areas, 0 viewing areas to 5 viewing areas. A gas diffusion electrode which satisfies both the prevention of the damage to an electrolyte membrane by a gas diffusing layer and the gas diffusivity of the gas diffusing layer, and exhibits good performance as a fuel cell.

摘要: A fuel cell power controller tracks load current and fuel cell output voltage, and alerts on excessive fuel cell ramp rate, so another power source can supplement the fuel cell and/or the load can be reduced. A power engineering process makes efficient use of available fuel cell power by ramping up power flow rapidly when power is available, while respecting the ramp rate and other power limitations of the fuel cell and safety limitations of the load. Power flow decreases after an alert indicating an electrical output limitation of the fuel cell. Permitted power flow increases in response to a power demand increase (actual or requested) from the load in the absence of the alert. Power flow may increase or decrease in a fixed amount, a proportional amount, or per a sequence. A power controller relay may trip open on a low fuel cell output voltage or high load current.
