    摘要: In a method of backfilling spoil (M) into a seabed trench (T), a blade (310) is propelled to travel forward on the seabed (S) and collect spoil (M) along the sides of the trench (T). The collected spoil (M) is funneled toward a rear apex (313) of the blade (310). The funneled spoil (M) is allowed to be discharged through an opening (311) in the blade apex (313) and onto the top surface of a pipe (C) disposed in the trench (T). The spoil (M) discharged into the trench (T) may then be leveled. The discharged spoil (M) may also be fragmented before it reaches the pipe (C).

    摘要: A seabed trenching plow has a chassis, a sled and a towing assembly. The towing assembly has a pair of wings extending laterally from each side of the chassis. The wings are aligned on an axis transverse to the chassis and adapted for connection to a towing line. The transverse axis is forward of the center of gravity of the plow and rearward of the sled, affording an over the stern releasable and retrievable trenching plow of sufficient weight and strength to excavate a three meter trench in a single pass. To assess the protective capabilities of the trench, a threshold signal indicative of a desired composition of seabed-trench soil is compared with a real-time data signal indicative of the actual to produce an alarm signal when the real-time data signal is not protective-capability compliant with the threshold signal.

    摘要: A vent system for a fuel storage tank and a pressure vacuum valve (PVV) module for use with such a vent system are disclosed. The vent system defines a vent path from the fuel storage tank to atmosphere. An elongate vent pipe extends vertically to a rain cap located at the upper end of the vent pipe. A pressure vacuum valve (PVV) is located in the vent path between the lower end of the vent pipe and the tank. The pressure vacuum valve maintains the vent path in a closed condition unless the pressure in the tank is above or below a predetermined pressure. By separating the PVV from the rain cap and placing it between the lower end of the vent pipe and the tank, it is possible to site the PVV at an accessible level for maintenance.

    摘要: The invention relates to a method of laying and connecting cable between a first structure and a second structure. The first and second structures may be turbine towers or other structures positioned in a body of water. The method includes the step of connecting a second end laying mechanism on the second structure for engagement with a second end portion of the cable. The second end portion of the cable is then engaged with the second end laying mechanism to form a catenary of cable at one side of the second end laying mechanism between the first and second structures, and a tail section at the other side of the second structure. The height of the second end laying mechanism is then adjusted to allow connection of the second end of the cable to the second structure. Second end laying and connecting apparatus for facilitating the laying and connecting of cable between first and second structures is also provided.
