摘要: A microcatheter with a guidewire therein can be steered to target tissue, then the target tissue can be punctured with the guidewire to create a transseptal puncture. The microcatheter can have a diameter substantially smaller than known sheaths which are typically used to guide a needle to a target puncture site in known transseptal puncture treatments. The guidewire can have an atraumatic, electrically conductive distal end that can be electrically energized to puncture the target tissue. Once the guide wire is across, ancillary devices such as a dilator and sheath can be delivered over the guide wire across the transseptal puncture. The microcatheter can include one or more location sensors. A navigation module can use the electrically conductive distal end as a reference electrode to the location sensor(s) of the microcatheter.

The first valve can allow a member to extend through the first valve and the second valve can allow the member to extend through the second valve. The elongate body can define a cavity comprising a sloped portion including a first distance between an inner surface of the elongate body and the longitudinal axis near the distal end that is greater than a distance between the inner surface and the longitudinal axis near the proximal end such that a gas is directed along the sloped portion to accumulate at an accumulation region in the cavity near the distal end when a member extends through the first valve.

摘要: The disclosed technology includes a medical probe comprising a plurality of spine members that form a substantially cylindrical structure. Each spine is stamped from a continuous piece of flat stock and heat-treated to a configuration including a first section extending along a longitudinal axis from a first end to a first bend, a second section extending from the first section curvilinearly with respect to the longitudinal axis and comprising a bifurcation point, and a third section extending along the longitudinal axis from a second bend to a second end so that a proximal portion of the third section is generally parallel to the first section. The discontinuous leg extends towards the first section and terminates at a termination point between the bifurcation point and the first end.
