摘要: The disclosed technology includes a medical probe comprising a tubular shaft including a proximal end and a distal end and an expandable basket assembly coupled to the distal end of the tubular shaft. The basket assembly can comprise a first plurality of spines coupled to the distal end of the tubular shaft and a second plurality of spines, each spine of the second plurality of spines rotatably coupled to a respective spine of the first plurality of spines. The basket assembly can include a plurality of electrodes attached to at least the second plurality of spines and a push rod connected to a distal end of the second plurality of spines. The push rod can be configured to slide longitudinally between a proximal position and a distal position to transition the expandable basket assembly between an expanded configuration and a collapsed configuration.

摘要: The disclosed technology includes a system for applying pulsed field ablation to treat atrial fibrillation. The system includes a catheter and a processor. The catheter can include a tip electrode controlled to emit either a pulsed electric field or a radiofrequency signal to biological tissue and ablate one or more locations of biological tissue of the pulmonary vein. The processor is configured to measure a contact force experienced by the tip electrode against biological tissue during pulsed electric field ablation and determine a pulsed field ablation index as a function of the measured contact force and number of pulsed electric field applications for each location of the one or more locations so that it can be determined whether a lesion is sufficiently durable.

摘要: A basket catheter having an end effector with multiple spines can be constructed with a combination of manufacturing techniques including at least two of the following techniques: individual spines, a loop with two spines, a cut sheet, and a cut tube. A cut sheet or a cut tube can be formed to include a distal hub that has openings through which spines of one or more additional structure can pass through so that the distal hub joins distinct structures of the end effector. This provides several alternative manufacturing techniques compared to those presently used in basket catheters which rely on only one of the aforementioned manufacturing techniques.

摘要: The disclosed technology includes a medical probe comprising a tubular shaft extending along a longitudinal axis and including a proximal end and a distal end. The medical probe further comprises an expandable basket assembly proximate the distal end of the tubular shaft. The basket assembly comprises a single unitary structure that includes a plurality of linear spines formed from a single piece of material and one or more electrodes coupled to each of the spines, each electrode defining a lumen through the electrode so that a spine extends through the lumen of each of the one or more electrodes. The spines converge at a central spine intersection at a distal end of the basket assembly. The central spine intersection includes one or more cutouts that allows for bending of the spines. Each spine comprises a respective end connected to the distal end of the tubular shaft.

摘要: An electrode location determiner for an electro-anatomical mapping system utilizing a distal assembly. The determiner includes a center of mass calculator, a tilt angle calculator and an electrode position updater. The center of mass calculator calculates a center of mass of the distal assembly from active current locations (ACL) locations of electrodes of the distal assembly. The tilt angle calculator receives output from a sensor having a sensor longitudinal axis aligned along a shaft longitudinal axis of a shaft to which the distal assembly is attached, checks whether or not the shaft longitudinal axis extends through the center of mass and, if not, calculates a tilt angle of the center of mass from the longitudinal axis and a line extending from a position of the sensor and the center of mass. The electrode position updater corrects the ACL locations according to the tilt angle.
