    摘要： An expanded extruded polystyrene sheet is described, containing 0.5% to 3% polyethyleneterephthalate (PET) by weight of the polystyrene weight and /exhibiting an integral compact layer on at least one of its surfaces, as well as a method for the production of said sheet comprising the steps of forming a mixture comprising polystyrene and 0.5%-3% of (PET), melting the mixture by heating inside an extruder, adding a blowing agent to the melt mixture and extruding the mixture in an environment at lower pressure through a die, cooling the sheet on exit from the die on at least one of its surfaces by means of air blow.

    摘要： A process for the production of extruded sheets of expanded polystyrene, which only uses expanding agents with low environmental impact, comprising the steps of : a) heating polystyrene or a mixture composed of polystyrene and at least one component selected from the group consisting flame retardants, coloring agents, plasticizers, heat stabilizers and lubricants at a temperature in the range of 180-2500C thus obtaining a polymer melt, which is subjected to homogenization; b) adding to the polymer melt a mixture of expanding agents (4) comprising carbon dioxide and water; c) homogenizing the polymer melt including said expanding agents; d) homogeneously cooling the polymer melt to a temperature lower than or equal to 1400C; e) extruding the cooled polymer melt through a die (8) to obtai an expanded polystyrene sheet.
