The invention concerns a method for making a mechanical component based on a computer-aided design comprising prior breakdown phases of the body part of the component into elementary strata, manufacturing the elementary strata, reconstructing the component. The invention is characterized in that it consists in: integrating, when breaking down the component, breakdown at least one fluid transport circuit previously computed and modelled into elementary chambers (20) based on a breakdown associated with that of the component; producing said elementary chambers in the elementary strata (7i) of the component, during the step of manufacturing the strata; reconstructing the fluid transport circuit integrally when stacking and assembling the strata. The invention also concerns the mechanical components produced by said method and for numerous fields of application such as, for example, but not exclusively, plastic and metal processing.

The invention relates to a method of optimising the joints between layers at the part thereof which is flush with the surface of a part obtained by means of computer-aided modelling or prototyping of the type involving layer decomposition. The invention is characterised in that the connecting profile of two successive layers is mathematically and numerically defined using an algorithm in which the surface of the joint (7) at the end zone close to the exposed part is always essentially normal n to the plane which is tangential to the surface at the exposed point. The invention can be used in prototyping, modelling and tooling.

The invention relates to a cutting tool, particularly a plate made of sintered material (1), comprising a cutting edge and a probe (3) or a micro-sensor inserted into the body of the tool close to the cutting edge. The invention is characterized in that the probe (3) or micro-sensor of the tool is connected to a male contactor (4;16;17;19) which is joined to the body of the plate (1) and which can cooperate with a female contactor (5;16b;18;20) which is connected to a tool holder (2) or vice versa. The invention also relates to a tool holder (2) for said cutting tool.
