Abstract: A fluid-cooled electronic assembly including a base having a fluid inlet and a fluid outlet therein, a cap attached to the base to form a fluid containment chamber therebetween, wherein the fluid containment chamber is in fluid communication with the fluid inlet and the fluid outlet, and an electronic device disposed within the fluid containment chamber and connected to the base, the electronic device having a plurality of microchannels adapted to receive a cooling fluid flow therethrough, wherein the cap is shaped to direct a fluid flow from the fluid inlet to the microchannels such that a pressure drop between the fluid inlet and the fluid outlet is reduced.

Abstract: A skill-scoring system suitable for use on an automated vehicle includes an accelerometer and a controller. The accelerometer is used to determine an acceleration-value experienced by an operator of a host-vehicle while the operator operates the host-vehicle in a manual-mode along a travel-path. The controller is in communication with the accelerometer. The controller is configured to determine a skill-score based on a comparison of the acceleration-value to an expected-acceleration that the operator would experience when the host-vehicle is operated in an automated-mode along the travel-path.

Abstract: An improved occupant weight detection system (10) measures the pressure in a fluid-filled bladder (20) disposed in or under a foam seat cushion as an indication of occupant weight, and periodically adjusts the pressure vs. occupant weight relationship to compensate for changes due to aging and usage of the foam seat cushion (142, 102, 104). The system controller (50) develops an aging adjustment value based on a measure of the cumulative aging and usage of the seat (130, 132, 134, 136, 138), and uses the developed adjustment value to compensate the operation of the system (142, 102, 104). The aging adjustment value is determined primarily as a function of occupant weight and time of seat occupancy, and the compensation is achieved by using the aging adjustment value to adjust either the estimated weight, or a threshold to which the measured pressure is compared for purposes of deciding if restraint deployment should be enabled (142).

Abstract: A Method for calibrating the orientation of a camera mounted to a vehicle, in particular a truck, comprises the steps of placing the camera in front of a calibration pattern defining at least two horizontal lines and two vertical lines; acquiring an image of the calibration pattern by means of the camera, the image having a first axis and a second axis at least essentially corresponding to a horizontal axis and a vertical axis, respectively; identifying representations of the horizontal lines and the vertical lines within the acquired image; determining a horizontal vanishing point from the representations of the horizontal lines; determining a vertical vanishing point from the representations of the vertical lines; and at least one of calculating a roll angle from the location of the horizontal vanishing point relative to a principal point of the image, calculating a yaw angle from a first coordinate of the horizontal vanishing point measured along the first axis, and calculating a pitch angle from a second coordinate of the vertical vanishing point measured along the second axis.
