    摘要: The invention provides for a method of printing an inkjet proof of a document to be printed with a half-tone reference printer that uses one of four or more different inks with each of a number of different plates produced by a setter based an effective horizontal image cell pitch of at least about 2400 image cells per inch and an effective vertical image cell pitch of at least about 2400 image cells per inch. The method includes receiving print data that describes half-tone dots having a predetermined perimeter using image cells at substantially the same horizontal image cell pitch and substantially the same vertical image cell pitch that is used by the setter to create the plates for the reference printer for the four or more colors. A proofing sheet is received including a first rectangular deposited ink drop printable face having a periphery defined by an ordered series of first, second, third, and fourth edges of the proofing sheet, and including a second face opposite the first face and also having a periphery being defined by the first, second, third, and fourth edges of the imposition proofing print sheet, with at least the first face having properties resulting from a deposited ink drop print-enhancing treatment. A half-tone proof is made for the four or more colors with an inkjet proofer on at least the first face of the proofing sheet at substantially the same horizontal cell pitch as the effective horizontal cell pitch of the data received in the step of receiving and at substantially the same vertical cell pitch as the effective vertical cell pitch of the data received in the step of receiving.

A half-tone proof is made for the four or more colors with an inkjet proofer on at least the first face of the proofing sheet at substantially the same horizontal cell pitch as the effective horizontal cell pitch of the data received in the step of receiving and at substantially the same vertical cell pitch as the effective vertical cell pitch of the data received in the step of receiving.

The leading edge assembly includes a first plurality of interconnected disks (12a), and the trailing edge assembly includes a second plurality of interconnected disks (12b). The disks of the two assemblies are interleaved such that the disks of the trailing edge assembly are rotatable relative to the disks of the leading edge assembly about the axis of rotation of the drum. A balancing disk is interleaved with the disks. A leading edge clamp (20) interconnects the first plurality of disks, and a trailing edge clamp (22) interconnects the second plurality of disks. A plurality of registration pins (100) of the leading edge clamp selectively engage a substrate held by the clamp.

    摘要: A continuous jet printer includes a mixer (50) defining a first fluid inlet (51) for receiving a first fluid, a second fluid inlet (52) for receiving a second fluid, and a fluid outlet (53). The mixer mixes the first and second fluids to produce a printing fluid. A fluid source is in fluid communication with the inlets for delivering the fluids. A jet nozzle in fluid communication with the mixer delivers drops of the printing fluid to a substrate. The fluid source delivers the fluids to the inlets at an operating pressure of the jet nozzle. A method of printing includes mixing the fluids at an operating pressure of the jet nozzle to produce a printing fluid. The printing fluid is delivered to an inlet of the jet nozzle at the operating pressure of the jet nozzle, and a substrate is printed with drops of the printing fluid exiting the jet nozzle.

    摘要: A mordanting substrate is provided including a porous substrate, and, distributed within the substrate, a mordanting agent. Preferably, the substrate is a fibrous cellulosic material, and the mordanting agent is a cationic polymer that is soluble in polar solvents, preferably water-soluble. The polar solvent solubility of the polymer, in combination with the porosity and cellulosic nature of the material, has been found to cause the mordanting agent, when imbibed into the substrate in the form of a solution, to bind to fibers within the substrate. This binding in turn allows excellent immobilization of dye within the substrate.
