The dump valve comprises a body (202) having a control bore (204), an opposing pilot bore (208), an exhaust bore (254) intersecting the control bore (204), and a connection bore (236) intersecting the control bore (204). The connecting bore (236) has means (53, 58) for fluidly connecting the connection bore (236) to the inlet bore (16) of a height control valve (10). A valve seal (246) disposed within the control bore (204) for reciprocal movement therein selectively places the connection port (236) in communication with either the supply port (218) or the exhaust port (254). A piston (260) axially disposed in the pilot bore (208) for reciprocal movement therein controls the movement of the valve seal (246) in response to the selective application of pressure to the pilot bore (208).

    摘要: A valve assembly for controlling delivery and exhaust of pressurized air to and from an air spring. The valve assembly comprises a body having a pair of valve bores with a coaxially open end, and a port in communication with the valve bore. The port is adapted to receive an air connection with an air spring. An actuator shaft, having a first end and a second end, is disposed coaxially in the valve bore for reciprocal movement between an actuating position and a rest position, and is biased towards the rest position. A valve block fixes within the valve bore and has an internal end and an external end. A coaxial bore extends from the internal end to the external end and slidably receives the actuator shaft second end. A stop chamber is disposed between the external end and the internal end. The valve block has a seat on the external end at the coaxial bore. An air passage communicates with the port and the coaxial bore. A stop member mounts on the actuator shaft within the stop chamber so that the actuator shaft second end will be spaced within the coaxial bore inwardly from the seat when the actuator shaft is in the rest position. Movement of the actuator shaft relative to the valve body is limited to the distance the stop moves within the stop chamber.

    摘要: A vehicle axle has mounted thereto a vehicle component, such as a brake actuator, a radius rod or track bar tower or a suspension for mounting the axle to the vehicle frame through an axle wrapper band which uniformly compresses the axle to provide a substantial frictional force between the axle and the wrapper band of a magnitude to prevent any appreciable translation or rotational movement of the axle with respect to the wrapper band in normal service on a vehicle. The axle can be round or multi-sided and the wrapper band has a corresponding shape. The wrapper band can be formed in parts, for example, U-shaped or L-shaped halves, and compressed towards each other before joining the halves either by welding or by a mechanical attachment. Alternatively, the wrapper band can be unitary in nature, heated and press-fit onto the axle. The wrapper band applies compressive pressure uniformly to the axle along mutliple angularly spaced axes and minimizes or eliminates the need for welding the components to the axle.

    摘要: An axle suspension assembly for a low-bed trailer wherein the frame is formed of I-beams (12) at each side thereof and each I-beam has an intermediate portion sloping upwardly and rearwardly between a low central portion and a higher rear portion. The customary trailing arm (44) or equalizing beam is pivotally mounted on the web of this sloping portion (18) of the I-beam utilizing a bushing assembly (46). Basically, the bushing assembly includes two pivot brackets (62,64) which are bolted to opposite sides of the web and which carry, by way of a resilient bushing (88) a bushing core (90) through which a fastener may pass so as to clamp opposite arms of a yokelike forward portion of the trailing arm to the bushing core. The bushing core passes through an opening formed in the web with the opening being elongated in a fore and aft direction whereby the bushing assembly may be adjusted so as to accurately position the mounted axle transversely of the trailer frame. Each pivot bracket includes a collar and in a preferred embodiment of the bushing, separate bushings are pressed into the collars with the bushings being bonded to separately formed bushing cores.
