Amyloid β (Aβ) aggregates are considered as possible targets for therapy and/or diagnosis of Alzheimer disease (AD). It has been previously shown that curcumin targets Aβ plaques and interferes with their formation, suggesting a potential role for prevention or treatment of AD. In the present invention, curcumin-derivatives with improved physicochemical properties were synthesized and a "click chemistry" as well as a conventional liposome preparation method, were used to generate nanoliposomes decorated with the curcumin derivatives. These derivatives were designed to maintain the planar structure required for interaction with Aβ, as directly confirmed by Surface Plasmon Resonance experiments. Surface Plasmon Resonance experiments, measuring the binding of flowing liposomes to immobilized Aβ1-42, indicated that the liposomes exposing curcumin derivatives have extremely high affinity for Aβ1-42 fibrils (1-5 nM), likely because of the occurrence of multivalent interactions. The present invention describes the synthesis of the curcumin derivatives and the preparation and characterization of new nanoliposomes with a very high affinity for Aβ1-42 fibrils, to be exploited as vectors for the targeted delivery of new diagnostic and therapeutic molecules for AD.

PCT No. PCT/GR94/00021 Sec. 371 Date May 1, 1995 Sec. 102(e) Date May 1, 1995 PCT Filed Sep. 2, 1994 PCT Pub. No. WO95/06908 PCT Pub. Date Mar. 9, 1995The present invention relates to a fail-safe control interface including branches for providing signals having a safe state or a non-safe state. Each branch comprises inputs for receiving at least two binary control signals (Si, Si*); a source of a non-safe state (Fe) connectable through a basic chain of elements (14, 15) to an output (Oi) when the control signals realize a predetermined combination; a concurrent checker (17) providing an error detection signal (g1, g2) if the inputs of a pair of its inputs are at predetermined states; and means (14*) for providing a first input of said pair of inputs with a signal corresponding to the state of said output and the second input of said pair of inputs with a signal corresponding to the output of a duplicate chain of the basic chain, this duplicate chain reacting like the basic chain in response to the control signals.

The present application describes a drug dispensing device.
The device is comprised of an armband, a rigid housing, made of polymeric or composite material, with any geometric shape, which separates in two along the longitudinal axis, incorporating therein a capsule containing a concentrated fluid whose geometric shape allows its storage within said housing. The centre of the top of one of the capsule faces contains a valve which, upon being actuated by at least one flexible tab, by pressing the mouth of the user, is expelled from the inside of the capsule, allowing him to suck the concentrated fluid contained therein.
In this way, the device allows the user to correct the reference values quickly and effectively and thus regain the sense of physical safety while practicing sports in extreme situations or while practicing activities in water environments.
