The invention relates to a method for production of a weight-optimised pneumatic tyre rim. A tube section (1a), preferably produced from a welded tube is used to produce a rim bed (1) by cold forming, with rotationally symmetrical, partially different wall thicknesses and then connected to a rim inner joining surface. According to the invention, firstly the wall of the cylindrical tube section (1a), starting from both end edges, around a given rotationally symmetrical region, which forms a flank (6), is brought to a largely exact wall thickness (S2) with formation of a pre-form, whereby the excess material of the flank (6), outside the tolerance range, is displaced in to a deep bed zone (7) between the two flanks (6) and then the flanks (6) are shaped by drawing to the free edge region using pressure, optionally varying in the thickness thereof (S4, SS) and reduced to a given mass.

The invention relates to a method for producing without cutting a gear part having a hub. According to said method, to form the hub a front end of the workpiece made of a steel sheet billet is joined to an additional main spindle (22) and held in position by an additional movable stop (55) having a receiving recess. By pressing the workpiece by means of one or more pressure rollers (66), the thickness of the back of said workpiece is reduced and deformed into a stepped body inside the receiving recess (3) of the movable stop, said stepped body being configured concentrically to form a hub. After the hub has been formed, the front end of the workpiece produced from a steel sheet billet or pre-drawn part is joined to a further main spindle and held in position by an additional movable stop (55) having a receiving recess. By pressing the workpiece by means of one or more pressure rollers (66), the thickness of the back of the workpiece is reduced and deformed into a stepped body inside the receiving recess of the movable stop, said stepped body being configured concentrically to form a hub.

The object of providing a method and a device for producing rotationally symmetrical components with which rotationally symmetrical components made of metal, in particular steel, even of a complex geometry, can be produced with sufficient accuracy and reduced process times, is achieved with a method by at least one linear moulding element being moved tangentially in relation to the surface of the synchronously rotating blank with a contour that at least partially comprises an unrolled outer contour of the rotationally symmetrical component or a preform of the component, wherein the linear moulding element is at the same time pressed against the blank in such a way that an impression of the contour of the moulding element is at least partially formed into the blank during the tangential movement.
