摘要:
A telephone services functionality (250-1,--250-N) is disposed in a telecommunications network (200) to ensure that a telephone call is processed in accordance with the telephone services respectively subscribed to by the calling (e.g. S1) and called (e.g. S2) parties. In addition, the functionality retains control over the call so that it may respond to service requests entered by either the calling or called party at any point following establishment of the call connection.

摘要:
A method to allow certain types of adjunct applications for telecommunications networks that require caller interaction during call setup to temporarily access the adjunct and then be released back to the network for routing to the final destination. Specifically, when the call enters the network, the network originating switch redirects certain calls to the adjunct. The adjunct may be locally homed directly off the originating switch or may be homed remotely off a centrally located switch. Once the call has been routed to the adjunct and caller interaction has been completed, the adjunct releases the voice connection back to the switch which then routes the call to its final destination.

To facilitate the processing of an incoming telephone call (e.g. from 105-1) associated with a respective telecommunications network service an initial address message identifying the incoming call is intercepted (in 300-1) before the message is presented to an associated toll switch (205) that will process the call. The intercepted message is then examined in order to identify the toll switch service logic that will process the call. The identity of the service logic is then appended to the message and the message is then passed to the toll switch (205) so that the identified service logic may be invoked to process the call in accord with the requested service.
