The set of instruction is loaded in a database and comprises instructions to control the operation of different versions (R1, R2) of a software application. To this end, each instruction of the set is identified by a context tag (0, 1, 2) indicating to which version (R1, R2) of the application this instruction is applicable or that this instruction is applicable to any version of the application. In more detail, context-tags are names or numbers amongst which "0" means, for instance, that the corresponding instruction is applicable to all the versions of the application, and "1" to "n" means that the corresponding instruction is only applicable to a "1 st "-"n th " version of the application respectively.

A method for improving the security of actions performed by Remote Procedure Calls RPC invoked during a TR-069 Remote Management Protocol session between an Auto-Configuration Server ACS and a Customer Premises Equipment CPE of a DSL telecommunication system. The TR-069 session comprises several RPC's executing actions on parameters of an object model and the method comprises the steps of - starting a TR-069 session wherein RPC's are invoked; - opening a transactional TR-069 session or transaction whereby parameters of the object model handled by RPC's are protected through a SavePoint mechanism; - closing the transaction by the ACS; and either: - committing the transaction via a StoreSavePoint RPC invoked by the ACS, or - rolling-back actions of RPC's via a RestoreSavePoint RPC also invoked by the ACS. If the transaction is not committed during a first TR-069 session, the CPE sends an Inform with an event code OpenSavePoint to the ACS during a next TR-069 session and the ACS may reply by including an additional field in the InformResponse to close the transaction. The SavePoint mechanism saves parameter values of the object model prior to any RPC by storing these parameter values at the CPE-side. The SavePoint mechanism may also save a history of the RPC's invoked during the transaction.

Furthermore, the method comprises assigning a predefined label switching value lsv to an addressing mode field DAM-F in the packet P for indicating that the above mentioned protocol steps further comprise a label switching principle that must be applied to forward the packet. Finally the method comprises using a source network identifier field SNI-F of the packet for storing and retrieving the label value lab1 for application of the label switching principle based thereon.

The present application describes a Qos module for use in a home network that comprises a plurality of devices and a home gateway. The home gateway is enabled to receive a multicast stream and to forward the multicast stream to at least one of the devices under control of a multicast proxy module. The Qos module further comprises the multicast proxy module for also sending, upon reception of a multicast join message from one of the devices for joining the multicast stream, a Quality of Service request. The Quality of Service request comprising an address of the home gateway and an address of said device. The Qos module further comprises a unicast Quality of Service control module for reception of the Quality of Service request and for sending a unicast Quality of Service event message in order to request thereby provision of Quality of Service for the multicast stream when being forwarded from the home gateway to the device.
