La couche métallique (étape a) est appliquée par décomposition dans la phase gazeuse de composés volatils de ces métaux dans un gaz inerte. La couche d'oxyde métallique (étapes a et/ou b) est appliquée par décomposition dans la phase gazeuse de composés volatils de ces métaux en présence d'oxygène, de vapeur d'eau ou de mélanges de ceux-ci.
