Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for producing monoethylene glycol (MEG) via the metal-catalysed reaction of an oxalic acid dialkyl ester of formula (I), in which R 1 and R 2 each independently of one another represent methyl, ethyl, n-propyl or iso-propyl groups, with hydrogen (H 2 ), wherein the oxalic acid dialkyl ester (I) is used in the form of a melt or dissolved in a solvent, oxalic acid dialkyl ester (I) and H 2 are used in a molar ratio of H 2 :oxalic acid dialkyl ester (I) in the region of 4.0 to 30, and the reaction is carried out continuously in a reactor at a sectional density of ≥ 10 m/s, a temperature in the region of 150 to 270°C, a pressure in the region of 150 to 390 bar and in the presence of a chrome-free, heterogeneous, copper-containing catalyst.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to the use of a compound of the general formula (I)
wherein R 1 is C 1 -C 4 -alkyl or -(C=O)-R 3 , R 2 is hydrogen, C 1 -C 4 -alkyl or -(C=O)-R a , and R 3 and R 4 , independently of one another, are selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and C 1 -C 4 -alkyl, a stereoisomer thereof or a mixture of stereoisomers thereof, as an aroma chemical, to aroma chemical compositions comprising at least one compound of the general formula (I), a stereoisomer thereof or a mixture of stereoisomers thereof, and to a method for preparing a fragranced ready-to-use composition, which comprises incorporating at least one compound of the general formula (I), a stereoisomer thereof or a mixture of stereoisomers thereof, into a ready-to-use composition. The present invention further relates to specific ethers and specific esters of the compounds of the general formula (I) and a method for their preparation.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for producing tetrahydrofurane and/or 1,4-butanediol and/or gamma-butyrolactone, in particular a method for producing tetrahydrofurane (THF) from succinic acid, which can be obtained by converting biomasses, by transforming the succinic acid into succinic acid anhydride and by hydrogenating the succinic acid anhydrides, by separating unwanted secondary components.
