The invention relates to the use of a polymer dispersion for producing anti-drumming compounds, wherein the polymer dispersion can be obtained by the emulsion polymerization of radically polymerizable monomers in the presence of at least one protective colloid, which is an amphiphilic graft copolymer. Preferred protective colloids are such that comprise a polyalkylene oxide main chain and vinyl ester-containing side chains. The invention also relates to corresponding anti-drumming compounds which contain the polymer dispersion and to a method for damping vibrations or oscillations of components in vehicles.
