Abstract: Use of a polyurethane (PU) foam reaction system comprising a) organic and/or modified organic polyisocyanates together with b) at least one relatively high molecular weight compound having at least two hydrogen atoms which are reactive toward isocyanate groups and optionally c) low molecular weight chain extenders and/or crosslinkers in the presence of d) blowing agents, e) catalysts, f) foam stabilizers and optionally g) further auxiliaries and/or additives, wherein the components a) to g) are selected such that a closed-cell polyurethane foam having a free-foamed bulk density of from 50 to 1100 g/l and a compressive strength of = 15 kPa is obtained and rigid integral foams are excluded, for the fixing of vacuum insulation panels (VIPs) over an area of the inside of an outer wall of a cooling apparatus and/or of the outside of a wall of the inner container of a cooling apparatus. In addition, a process for producing composites comprising a wall of a cooling apparatus, a PU foam layer derived from the abovementioned PU foam reaction system and at least one VIP is described.

Abstract: The invention relates to polyol components b) containing: between 20 and 40 wt. % of polyether ester polyols B) with a functionality of between 3.8 and 4.8, an OH number of between 380 and 440 mg KOH/g and a fatty acid and/or fatty acid ester content of between 8 and 7 wt. %, in relation to the weight of the polyether ester polyols B); betwen 20 and 40 wt. % of polyether polyols C) with a functionality of between 3.7 and 4 and an OH number of between 300 and 420 mg KOH/g; between 20 and 40 wt. % of polyether polyols D) with a functionality of between 4.5 and 6.5 and an OH number of between 400 and 520 mg KOH/g; and between 0.5 and 5.5 wt. % of catalysts E), between 0.1 and 5 wt. % of other auxiliary agents and/or additives F), and between 0.5 and 5 wt. % of water G). The invention also relates to polyurethane rigid foam materials produced therefrom and to the use thereof for insulation and cooling applications.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for producing composite elements comprising a first and a second outer layer, a vacuum insulation panel between the two outer layers, rigid polyurethane foam in contact with the first outer layer and the underside of the vacuum insulation panel and also rigid polyurethane foam in contact with the second outer layer and the upper side of the vacuum insulation panel, comprising applying a reaction mixture (R1) for producing a rigid polyurethane foam to the first outer layer, bringing the lower side of a vacuum insulation panel into contact with the uncured reaction mixture (R1), applying a reaction mixture (R2) for producing a rigid polyurethane foam to the upper side of the vacuum insulation panel, bringing the second outer layer into contact with the layer of the uncured reaction mixture (R2), and finally curing the two rigid polyurethane foam systems (R1) and (R2) to obtain the composite element. The present invention also relates to composite elements obtainable in such a way, and to the use of a composite element according to the invention or of a composite element obtainable by a method according to the invention as components for cooling devices or as building material.
