摘要: The invention relates to an apparatus and method for forming pipe insulation sections of mineral wool. The apparatus features a section curing portion with one or more outer molds (31, 32) cylindrical in terms of their internal surface. The curing portion further includes a core (51, 52) installed inside each mold or capable of being installed therein or removed therefrom. In connection of each outer mold are provided first elements for heating the outer mold at least over its internal surface, and second elements (61, 62; 11, 12; 21, 22) for irradiating a mineral wool section installed in the mold with microwaves, said core having been made from some material capable of heating up in response to microwave irradiation.

摘要: The invention relates to a method of manufacturing a pipe section of mineral wool, said method comprising the use of an uncured mat of mineral wool, from which is sawn off a run of thin sheet, which is then cut to a length matching the desired wall thickness of a section to be manufactured and which is wound around a core for a sandwich type cylinder, and next the core, and the cylinder of mineral wool around it, are placed in a mould and cured. The method comprises interposing between layers of mineral wool a material (3) better in terms of heat insulation in granular form prior to winding a sheet (1) around a core (2) and/or during the ongoing winding process. The invention relates also to a pipe section, wherein between superimposed layers of mineral wool is provided a material (3), which is in granular form and which is better in terms of heat insulation.

摘要: Condensate is normally prevented from departing in liquid phase from piping or a cooling surface, said piping conveying liquid at a temperature which may be lower than the dew point of the ambient air, by applying a material layer (3) to the outside of the piping (1) or cooling surface. In such as cooling plants, the surface temperature is allowed to be below the dew point of ambient air, and moisture transport is then carried out in the material layer (3) both in the vapour and liquid phase, and water is caught up in the layer to a certain extent, while excess liquid is taken away by drying out.

摘要: The invention relates to a thermal insulation material that is fibre free.
It provides a fibre-free thermal insulation material for high temperatures comprising a pyrogenic metal oxide, a refractory material and a binder. It may contain a finely grained thermal radiation-reflecting material, e.g. titania. The pyrogenic oxide, refractory material and binder may be present in a homogeneous mixture or the pyrogenic metal oxide and the binder on the one hand and the refractory material on the other hand may be in different layers of a multi-layer construction.

摘要: A substrate is protected from excessive heat by covering it with a protective article comprising a glass fiber element which has been coated with a silicone rubber composition containing about 0.01 to about 10% by weight, based on the weight of the rubber, of a boron compound. The article protects the underlying substrate for a period of time if exposed to temperatures of up to about 2000°F and indefinitely if exposed to temperatures of up to about 500°F. The temperature differential between the inner and outer surfaces of the protective article can be as high as 800°F thereby protecting the underlying substrate from damage caused by excessive heat.
