The present invention describes amides of formula (I) R 1 -(C=O)-(NR 2 )-R 3 wherein R 1 is a linear or branched, preferably linear C 7 - to C 29 -alkyl, or C 7 - to C 29 -alkenyl, preferably C 7 - to C 23 -alkyl or C 7 - to C 23 -alkenyl R 2 is hydrogen or C 1 - to C 4 -alkyl, and R 3 is a hydrocarbyl residue comprising 12 to 200 carbon atoms obtainable from polymerisation of an olefin. The amides may be used in fuel additive packages or fuels, especially gasoline fuel, as additives for improving the fuel efficiency and/or the fuel economy, for reducing or removing deposits on the intake valves and/or for reducing or removing the fouling of injector nozzles, especially in direct injection spark ignition engines.

The invention relates to a biodegradable copolyester that has a molecular weight Mn measured in accordance with GPC of 10,000 to 100,000 and that can be obtained by reacting vi) 51 to 84 wt%, with respect to the copolyester, of a branched polyester middle block based on aliphatic or aliphatic and aromatic dicarboxylic acids and aliphatic dihydroxy compounds and having a molecular weight Mn measured in accordance with 1 H-NMR of 5,000 to 25,000 with vii) 15.9 to 48.9 wt%, with respect to the copolyester, of a lactide in the presence of a catalyst and then reacting the polyester triblock thus obtained and having a molecular weight Mn measured in accordance with 1 H-NMR of 5,800 to 49,500 with viii) 0.1 to 3 wt%, with respect to the copolyester, of a diisocyanate. The invention further relates to a method for producing the biodegradable copolyesters mentioned above and to the use of the biodegradable copolyesters mentioned above.

The invention relates to a method for producing a polyester which contains a) a furan dicarboxylic acid component (A) which comprises at least one dialkyl ester of a furan dicarboxylic acid, b) a dicarboxylic acid component (B) which comprises at least one aliphatic dicarboxyl acid or the dialkyl ester or anhydride thereof, c) an alcohol component (C) which comprises at least 1,4-butanediol, and d) a catalyst (D), wherein all of the components of the reaction mixture are reacted together; and polyester containing a) a furan dicarboxylic acid component (A) which comprises at least one furan dicarboxylic acid, b) a dicarboxylic acid component (B) which comprises at least one dicarboxylic acid, and c) an alcohol component (C) which comprises at least 1,4-butanediol, the hydroxyl number being > 0 to 50 mg KOH/g and the acid number being 0 to 2.5 mg KOH/g. The invention also relates to the use of the polyesters according to the invention in order to produce films, packaging, containers, foamed products, fibers, or composite materials.

The present invention relates to use of at least one compound of the formula (I)

in which M + is a cation; A is C 2 -C 3 -alkandiyl; R is selected from linear or branched C 11 -C 20 -alkyl and mixtures thereof; and n is a natural positive number of 2 to 12 where the number average of n is in the range of 3 to 10; for increasing the herbicidal effect of one or more herbicide compounds.
