Abstract:
The present invention describes amides of formula (I) R 1 -(C=O)-(NR 2 )-R 3 wherein R 1 is a linear or branched, preferably linear C 7 - to C 29 -alkyl, or C 7 - to C 29 -alkenyl, preferably C 7 - to C 23 -alkyl or C 7 - to C 23 -alkenyl R 2 is hydrogen or C 1 - to C 4 -alkyl, and R 3 is a hydrocarbyl residue comprising 12 to 200 carbon atoms obtainable from polymerisation of an olefin. The amides may be used in fuel additive packages or fuels, especially gasoline fuel, as additives for improving the fuel efficiency and/or the fuel economy, for reducing or removing deposits on the intake valves and/or for reducing or removing the fouling of injector nozzles, especially in direct injection spark ignition engines.
Abstract:
The presently claimed invention is directed to the use of polyalkylene glycol ester that are prepared by reacting polytetrahydrofuran with at least one C 9 -C 27 acid in lubricating oil compositions.
Abstract:
The use of an alkoxylated polytetrahydrofurane of formula wherein m, m', n, n', p, p' and k are integers in the range of ‰¥ 1, R 1 denotes an unsubstituted linear or branched alkyl radical, R 2 denotes -CH 2 -CH 3 , and R 3 denotes a hydrogen atom or -CH 3 , as an additive in a fuel for reducing fuel consumption in the operation of an internal combustion engine with this fuel.
Abstract:
Use of a reaction product of saturated or unsaturated aliphatic mono- or polycarboxylic acids with aliphatic polyamines for improving or boosting the separation of water from fuel oils which comprise additives with detergent action. A Fuel additive concentrate comprising the said reaction product, certain additives with detergent action and optionally dehazers, cetane number improvers and solvents or diluents.
Abstract:
The invention relates to novel quaternized nitrogen compounds, to the production thereof, and to the use thereof as fuel additives and lubricant additives, such as in particular detergent additives, additive packages that contain said compounds, and fuels and lubricants to which said additive packages have been added. The invention further relates to the use of said quaternized nitrogen compounds as a fuel addition for reducing or preventing deposits in the injection systems of direct-injection diesel engines, in particular in common-rail injection systems, for reducing the fuel consumption of direct-injection diesel engines, in particular diesel engines having common-rail injection systems, and for minimizing the power loss in direct-injection diesel engines, in particular in diesel engines having common-rail injection systems.
Abstract:
