Abstract:
The invention relates to a process for producing water-absorbing polymer particles, comprising polymerization and drying the resulting polymer gel on a through-circulation belt dryer having at the end of the belt in transport direction a means for guiding the dried polymer gel down towards a means for crushing the dried polymer gel.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for operating a device (1) comprising at least one rotating shaft (5) which comprises functional elements (7) which act upon the material which is to be treated in the device (1). Said device (1) comprises a fill opening (15) and an outlet opening (9) having an adjustable lower edge (13) and the material is guided continuously through the device (1) from the fill opening (15) to the outlet opening (9). Said method consists of the following steps: a) measuring the charge data of at least one rotating shaft (5) in order to determine the shaft load, b) lowering the lower edge (13) of the outlet opening (9) and/or reducing the amount of material which is to be supplied, if the shaft load exceeds a predetermined maximum load, or upwardly shifting the lower edge (13) of the outlet opening (9) and/or increasing the amount of material which is to be supplied, if the shaft load is lower than a predetermined shaft load.
Abstract:
A process for classifying water-absorbing polymer particles, wherein screens having different mesh sizes are used before and after surface postcrosslinking to remove the undersize (fines).
Abstract:
Method for producing water-absorbent polymer particles by polymerizing an aqueous monomer solution in a polymerization reactor which has at least two axially parallel rotating shafts, polymerization being carried out in the presence of an inert gas and under excess pressure.
