Abstract:
Co-polyester resin compositions and processes for manufacturing resin compositions are provided, said resin compositions being suitable for extrusion blow molding for the manufacture of containers with good color, clarity for both food, non-food applications and other applications such as profile extrusions and manufacture of blown films which require high melt strength polyester.
Abstract:
The thermoplastic molding compound contains a) 3 to 79% by weight of one or more styrene copolymers, which have no maleic anhydride-derived units, as component A, b) 15 to 91% by weight of one or more polyamides containing, based on the total of component B, 0.1 to 0.2% by weight of triacetone diamine (TAD) terminal groups, as component B, c) 5 to 50% by weight of one or more impact-modified rubbers as component C, d) 1 to 25% by weight of a styrene copolymer which, based on the total of component D, has 1.9 to 2.3% by weight of maleic anhydride-derived units, as component D, e) 0 to 40% by weight of further rubbers as component E, f) 0 to 50% by weight of one or more fibrous or particulate fillers as component F, and g) 0 to 40% by weight of further additives as component G, the molding compound containing less than 0.1% by weight of phthalic anhydride and the total amount of components A to D and optionally E to G adding up to 100% by weight.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a method for producing gelatin-free soft capsule envelopes based on polyvinyl alcohol-polyether graft polymers as enveloping polymers. Said method is characterized in that an aqueous solution containing at least 45 percent by weight of a polymer component which comprises a polyvinyl alcohol-polyether graft polymer or a mixture of polyvinyl alcohol-polyether graft polymers and polyvinyl alcohol is heated, the percentage being in relation to the total weight of the solution, the solution is extruded at a minimum temperature of 70 °C, and the obtained film is solidified by cooling.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a mixture containing at least one multi-functional chain extender with at least three reactive groups, as well as at least one monofunctional or difunctional hydrolytic stabiliser, said chain extender and hydrolytic stabilisers reacting with the end groups of polymers when the polymers are in a melted or solid state, with a chemical bond being formed. The invention also relates to the use of such mixtures as stabilisers for polymers, and to a method for the stabilisation of polymers against losses in molecular weight in which an effective amount of such a mixture is added to the polymer.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for increasing the molecular weight of polyesters by heating 100 parts of polyester with i) 0.01 to 5 parts of a tetracarbolic acid dianhydride, and ii) 0.01 to 5 parts of a copolymer comprising an epoxy group and based on styrene, acrylic acid ester, and/or methacrylic acid ester in an extruder to 160 to 350°C.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for producing polymer blends, which are suited for use as filter aids, from polystyrene and cross-linked water-insoluble polyvinyl pyrrolidones by processing both components in an extruder. The invention is characterized in that polystyrene is melted in an extruder, is then mixed with the polyvinyl pyrrolidone, and water is added to the mixture of the components having 0.1 to 10 % by weight with regard to the total amount of polystyrene and popcorn polymer, whereupon the mixture is extruded and comminuted.
