Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for producing perylene pigments of general formula (Ia) or (Ib), or mixtures thereof, by reacting perylene tetracarboxylic acids or their functional derivatives with aromatic diamines. In said formulae, R1 and R2 independently of one another are identical or different and represent phenylene, naphthylene or pyridylene, where R1 and R2 can be mono- or polysubstituted by C1 -C22 alkyl, C3-C22 alkenyl, C1-C22 alkoxy, hydroxy and/or halogen, X1, X2, X3, X4, X5, X6, X7, X8 independently of one another are identical or different and can represent hydrogen or halogen. According to the invention, the reaction takes place in the presence of a secondary or tertiary amine in an aqueous reaction medium.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for producing N,N'-di(3',5'-dimethylphenyl)perylene bis-dicarboximide by reaction of perylene-3,4,9,10-tetracarboxylic acid dianhydride with 3,5-dimethylaniline in the presence of a secondary or tertiary amine as catalyst, characterised in that the reaction is carried out in an aqueous reaction medium and in the presence of added seed crystals of N,N'-di(3',5'-dimethylphenyl)perylene bis-dicarboximide.
Abstract:
Disclosed are black perylene pigments containing one of the isomers of formula (Ia) or (Ib), wherein the variables have the following meaning: R1, R2 independently represent phenylene, naphthylene, or pyridylene, each of which can be monosubstituted or polysubstituted by C1-C12 alkyl, C1-C6 alkoxy, hydroxy, nitro, and/or halogen; X represents halogen; n represents 0 to 4. The inventive black perylene pigments alternatively contain a mixture of both isomers and are provided with a black number ≥ 210 in an alkyd/melamine baking enamel.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a method for producing colored OSB plates by bringing the wood chips that are used as a basic material for the OSB plates into contact with a liquid colorant preparation prior to and following the drying process, then gluing said wood chips in a conventional manner, pouring the wood chips so as to form three-layered mats, and pressing said mats in a hot state in order to obtain plates comprising a central layer and two coating layers.

Abstract:
The invention relates to the use of liquid colouring preparations, containing at least one pigment and 0.5 to 10 wt.% of at least one dye, based on the pigment, for the decorative colouring of derived timber products.
Abstract:
Processes for manufacturing nitrogen oxide storage materials and lean NOx trap catalysts are disclosed. Also disclosed are nitrogen oxide storage material made by processes comprising barium carbonate (BaCO3) and ceria (CeO2) by using Ba(OH)2 instead of most or all Ba(OOCH3)2 to reduce cost and reduce harmful byproducts. Aspects of the present invention also relate generally to lean NOx trap (LNT) comprising nitrogen oxide storage materials.
