Abstract:
A catalyst is provided, preferably for the use in selective catalytic reduction (SCR). Said catalyst comprises one or more zeolites of the MFI structure type, and one or more zeolites of the CHA structure type, wherein at least part of the one or more zeolites of the MFI structure type contains iron (Fe), and wherein at least part of the one or more zeolites of the CHA structure type contains copper (Cu). Furthermore, provided are an exhaust gas treatment system comprising said catalyst as well as a process for the treatment of a gas stream comprising NOX using said catalyst as well.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a nitrogen oxide storage catalyst comprising: a substrate; a first washcoat layer provided on the subtstrate, the first washcoat layer comprising a nitrogen oxide storage material, a second washcoat layer provided on the first washcoat layer, the second washcoat layer comprising a hydrocarbon trap material, wherein the hydrocarbon trap material comprises substantially no element or com- pound in a state in which it is capable of catalyzing selective catalytic reduction, preferably wherein the hydrocarbon trap material comprises substantially no element or compound in a state in which it is capable of catalyzing a reaction wherein nitrogen oxide is reduced to N2, said catalyst further comprising a nitrogen oxide conversion material which is either comprised in the second washcoat layer and/or in a washcoat layer provided between the first washcoat layer and the second washcoat layer.
Abstract:
Provided are emissions treatment systems for an exhaust stream having an ammonia-generating component, such as a NOx storage reduction (NSR) catalyst or a lean NOx trap (LNT) catalyst, and an SCR catalyst disposed downstream of the ammonia-generating catalyst. The SCR catalyst can be a molecular sieve having the CHA crystal structure, for example SSZ-13 or SAPO-34, which can be ion-exchanged with copper. The LNT can be layered, having an undercoat washcoat layer comprising a support material, at least one precious metal, and at least one NOx sorbent selected from the group consisting of alkaline earth elements, rare earth elements, and combinations thereof and a top washcoat layer comprising a support material, at least one precious metal, and ceria in particulate form, the top washcoat layer being substantially free of alkaline earth components. The emissions treatment system is advantageously used for the treatment of exhaust streams from diesel engines and lean burn gasoline engines.
Abstract:
An oxidation catalyst composite, methods, and systems for the treatment of exhaust gas emissions from a diesel engine are described. More particularly, an oxidation catalyst composite including a first washcoat layer comprising a Pt component and a Pd component, and a second washcoat layer including a refractory metal oxide support containing manganese, a zeolite, and a platinum component is described.
