A method for manufacturing a liquid discharge head comprises the steps of providing a head main body (46) having liquid flow paths, and an aperture surface having flow path openings communicated with the flow paths; providing a discharge port plate (40) having extrusions (45) each on the circumference of an inside opening communicated with each of the discharge ports, being on the inner face on the side opposite to the discharge port surface provided with discharge ports for discharging liquid, and a base having a substantially flat surface. For this method, the discharge port plate is arranged in a state of these surfaces formed integrally to be in contact; bonding the aperture surface and the inner face to fit the extrusions into the flow path openings by pressing the head main body and the base in the direction of the head main body and the base approaching each other with the discharge port plate between them; and separating the base from other members. With the method of manufacture thus structure, the liquid discharge head presents an excellent discharge efficiency by the provision of the extrusions that enter the flow paths from the orifice plate. It also becomes possible to manufacture a highly reliable liquid discharge head by a simpler manufacturing apparatus in a shorter period of time at lower costs.

For this ink tank, the supply portion (13) and the communication portion (12) with the air outside are integrally formed, and at the same time, a plate member is provided to make the interior of the housing a closed space by joining the plate member to the housing, and then, erroneous installation prevention portions are arranged for the plate member to prevent the installation on the position other than specifically designated for the liquid jet recording apparatus. With the structure thus arranged, the ink tank (1) makes it possible to easily enhance the dimensional precision of the coupling portion with the recording apparatus, and the erroneous installation prevention portions as well. Thus, without depending on the precision of an ink tank as a whole, it is possible to enhance the reliability of the installation on or coupling with the recording apparatus.

A method for manufacturing ink jet recording heads comprises the steps of forming a film of a first inorganic material in the form of ink flow path pattern using the soluble first inorganic material on the substrate having ink discharge pressure generating elements formed thereon, forming a film of a second inorganic material becoming ink flow walls on the film of the first inorganic material using the second inorganic material, forming ink discharge openings on the film of the second inorganic material above the ink discharge pressure generating elements, and eluting the film of the first inorganic material. With the method thus arranged, it becomes passible to set the ink discharge pressure generating elements and the ink discharge openings (ports) of each head in extremely high precision in a shorter distance with a good reproducibility to record images in higher quality without any deformation of the head due to the applied heat, while providing a good resistance to ink and erosion, as well as a higher dimensional precision and reliability that may be affected otherwise by swelling or the like.
