摘要:
The present invention relates to an amino acid-modified organopolysiloxane emulsion obtainable by reacting (a) a carboxy-unprotected amino acid, and (b) organopolysiloxane having an epoxy group in the molecule in an aqueous medium in the presence of a surfactant, is incorporated in a cosmetic product. The present invention also relates to the simple and highly efficient production of emulsions of amino acid-modified polysiloxane, as well as the use of the emulsions as beautifying components.

Methods for treating fibers are disclosed with aqueous silicone emulsions comprising: A) an aminofunctional organopolysiloxane, B) a quaternary ammonium surfactant having a formula R 1 R 2 R 3 R 4 N+ X-, where R 1 is an organofunctional group containing at least 10 carbon atoms, R 2 is R 1 or a hydrocarbyl containing 1 to 12 carbon atoms, R 3 is R 1 , R 2 , or an alcohol group containing 2 to 10 carbon atoms, R 4 is R 1 , R 2 , or R 3, X" is a halide, sulfate, sulfonate, methosulfate, or ethosulfate, C) a nonionic surfactant, where the aqueous silicone emulsion contains less than 0.2 weight% of D4 and D5 cyclic siloxanes.

Bi-modal water continuous emulsions are disclosed comprising at least 70 weight percent of: a first dispersed phase containing a hydrophobic oil, wherein the hydrophobic oil is provided as a non-emulsified hydrophobic oil, a second dispersed phase containing a silicone, wherein the silicone is provided from a water continuous silicone emulsion containing at least one surfactant.

Oil-in-water (O/W) and water-in-oil (W/O) emulsions and microemulsions containing elastomeric silanes or siloxanes preferably having quaternary ammonium groups are generally made by reacting organic quaternary ammonium compounds having epoxide groups or halohydrin groups, with silanes or siloxanes having amino groups. The reaction is carried out in an aqueous polar phase containing a crosslinking agent and surfactant. The emulsions and microemulsions are especially useful for treating hair, skin, or the underarm.

Silicone polyether microemulsions are disclosed containing i) at least 20% by weight of a water immiscible dispersed phase comprising certain polydialkylsiloxane-polyoxyalkylene copolymers having 0.1 to 10 wt % ethylene oxide (C2H4O) groups, optionally a water immiscible silicone or hydrocarbon fluid, and ii) at least 5% by weight of an emulsifier. The silicone polyether microemulsions are optically transparent and have an average particle size of less than 100 nanometers. They may be used in a variety of personal care product formulations. In particular, the silicone polyether microemulsions may be used to prepare “clear” personal care products.

A process for preparing bi-modal water emulsions is disclosed comprising: I) forming a mixture comprising; A) 100 parts by weight of a hydrophobic oil, B) 1 to 1000 part by weight of a water continuous emulsion having at least one surfactant, II) admixing additional quantities of the water continuous emulsion and/or water to the mixture from step I) to form a bi-modal emulsion.

Personal care compositions containing silicone polymer and organic polymer containing alloy and/or hybrid emulsions are disclosed. The silicone organic hybrid emulsions are particularly useful in hair care formulations to simultaneously provide conditioning and styling benefits. The silicone organic hybrid emulsions are also useful in color cosmetic formulations to provide shine and wash-off resistance benefits.
摘要:
A process is disclosed for preparing an emulsion composition by forming a mixture of a silanol functional organopolysiloxane, a boron compound, an emulsifier, and then admixing water to the mixture to form an emulsion. The resulting emulsions are useful for providing benefits in personal care applications, particularly hair care compositions.
