摘要： Provided is an apparatus and a method for providing a three-dimensional (3D) broadcasting service that may provide a two-dimensional (2D) fixed broadcasting service using a fixed broadcasting signal or a 2D mobile broadcasting service using a mobile broadcasting signal when a transmitter transmits each of a left image and a right image constituting a 3D image using the fixed broadcasting signal or the mobile broadcasting signal, and the receiver receives the fixed broadcasting signal and the mobile broadcasting signal, or may provide a 3D broadcasting service by composing an image received using the fixed broadcasting signal and an image received using the mobile broadcasting signal into a 3D image.

摘要： A repeater having different input and output frequencies converts a signal received with the input frequency to a first intermediate frequency signal based on a local oscillating frequency for intermediate frequency conversion, and converts the first intermediate frequency signal to a second intermediate frequency signal by performing digital processing on the first intermediate frequency signal. Then, the repeater generates a first frequency tone signal that corresponds to a difference between the input and output frequencies, and generates a second frequency tone signal from the local oscillating frequency for intermediate frequency conversion and the first frequency tone signal. The repeater up-converts the second intermediate frequency signal to the output frequency based on the second frequency tone signal, and transmits the signal.

A physical layer transmission apparatus for adaptable/variable type modulation, the transmission apparatus including a classification unit to classify a bit stream according to a standard that is determined in advance after receiving the bit stream, an uncoded bit group unit to group the bit stream not to be LDPC-coded by a predetermined number of bits, an LDPC encoder to perform LDPC-coding of the bit stream, a coded bit group unit to group the coded bit stream by the predetermined number of bits, a quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) unit to select a symbol coset using the coded bit groups; and a convolutional interleaver to perform convolutional interleaving of the symbol.
