摘要： In a method of transmitting broadcasting signals, a transmission frame has the same configuration as that of the existing terrestrial DMB signal. A transmission frame including a base layer service stream is modulated to a base layer, and a transmission frame including an enhancement layer service stream is modulated to an enhancement layer. The enhancement layer service stream is composed of additional data that is not included in the base layer service stream, in order to provide an enhancement layer service. In this way, the method can provide a high-quality service requiring high transmission efficiency while being compatible with the existing terrestrial DMB system. The high transmission efficiency means a higher data transfer rate than that of the existing terrestrial DMB system.

摘要： A hierarchical modulation device modulates a plurality of first hierarchical symbols according to a first modulation method to generate a plurality of first hierarchical modulation symbols, inserts a plurality of pilot symbols into a plurality of second hierarchical symbols to generate a plurality of pilot insertion symbols, modulates a plurality of pilot insertion symbols according to a second modulation method to generate a plurality of second hierarchical modulation symbols, and maps a plurality of first hierarchical modulation symbols and the plurality of second hier archical modulation symbols in the signal space to generate a plurality of hierarchical modulation symbols. Therefore, the hierarchical modulation device can improve receiving performance of the enhancement layer without influencing the base layer.

摘要： In a terrestrial DMB, a transmitting apparatus multiplexes a plurality of service streams generated for any service to a plurality of ensembles. In this case, the same sending time data is constructed in a time stamp field of each frame for each of a plurality of ensembles. With this configuration, a plurality of transmitting apparatuses can send a plurality of transmission frames including service streams for the same service at the same point of time, and thus receiving apparatuses can actually receive a plurality of transmission frames at the same point of time.

摘要： Disclosed herein are a method for transmitting and receiving a broadcast signal in which bandwidth scalability using multiples of a basic bandwidth is applied and an apparatus for the same. The method for transmitting a broadcast signal includes generating a multiplexed signal by multiplexing a first broadcast service signal for a first broadcast service and a second broadcast service signal for a second broadcast service, which differs from the first broadcast service; modulating the multiplexed signal in order for the first broadcast service and the second broadcast service to share a compound band, the bandwidth of which is a multiple of a basic bandwidth but is smaller than an entire bandwidth, thereby generating a signal to be transmitted; and transmitting the generated signal using the compound band.

摘要： A transmission device and receiving device for providing high-quality multimedia services in a digital multimedia broadcasting (DMB) transmission system is provided. The transmission device separates input multimedia contents into a base layer elementary stream and an enhancement layer elementary stream, encodes the base layer elementary stream and the enhancement layer elementary stream, transforms the base layer elementary stream and the enhancement layer elementary stream into a base layer SL packet and an enhancement layer SL packet, transforms the base layer SL packet and the enhancement layer SL packet into a base layer PES packet and an enhancement layer PES packet, and multiplexes the base layer PES packet and the enhancement layer PES packet according to a base layer elementary stream and an enhancement layer elementary stream and outputs a base layer TS packet and an enhancement layer TS packet.

摘要： The present invention relates to a channel encoder for an enhancement layer of a digital-multimedia-broadcasting transmitting device, a digital broadcasting transmitting device, a digital broadcasting receiving device, and an extension structure of sub-channel configuration field (FIG0/1 ) for designating a protection level of sub-channel at the enhancement layer. In a channel encoder for the enhancement layer according to the invention, the channel encoder is included in a hierarchical DMB transmitting unit that modulates a base layer transport stream and a enhancement layer transport stream for video and audio by a base layer modulation system and an enhancement layer modulation system, respectively, and performs symbol mapping of the enhancement layer according to the position of a constellation based on the base layer modulation system. Furthermore, the hierarchical DMB transmitting unit includes an energy dispersal scrambler that disperses energy of the enhancement layer transport stream, and a turbo encoder that receives a double-binary input vector corresponding to an output of the energy dispersal scrambler and encodes it by using a double-binary circular recursive systematic code.
