The invention relates to a method for making a swinging body (1a; 1b) for an automatic winding mechanism of a watch, comprising a central portion (3a; 3b; 3c) made of a first composite material and a heavy portion (5a; 5b; 5c) made of a second composite material filled with heavy-metal particles, comprises the following steps: forming the central portion (3a; 3b; 3c) with a side ridge and a rabbet by injecting the first composite material into a mold; over-molding the heavy portion (5a; 5b; 5c) onto the central portion by injecting a second composite material into a mold containing the central portion so that the second composite material fills the rabbet as well as a gap underneath the side ridge, and so that the side ridge is embedded in the second composite material and the central portion and the heavy portion are in mutual engagement.
