This application relates to new compounds called WS-9326A, WS-9326B, and their derivatives having valuable pharmaceutical properties and which are obtainable by culturing a WS-9326A and/or WS-9326B producing strain belonging to the genus Streptomyces in nutrient medium and recovering such compounds or salts thereof from the resultant cultured broth. The invention also relates to a process for the production of such compounds and to pharmaceutical compositions containing them or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof as an active ingredient. The invention furthermore relates to a biologically pure culture of the microorgnism Streptomyces violaceoniger No. 9326 (FERM BP-1667).

The invention relates to a new compound, designated FR-900451, and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof. The compound has antimicrobial properties and is effective in the treatment of various infectious diseases in both human beings and animals. There is also provided a process for preparing FR-900451 compound which comprises culturing a FR-900451 producing strain belonging to the genus Streptomyces in a nutrient medium. Pharmaceutical compositions comprising FR-900451 as an active ingredient are also described.

The invention relates to a new anti-microbial compound, designated FR109615, having the characteristics and physico-chemical properties described herein. The compound shows anti-microbial activity against pathogenic microorganisms, especially pathogenic fungi, and is useful for the treatment of various infectious diseases in both human beings and animals. There is provided a process for preparing the FR109615 compound which comprises culturing a FR109615 producing strain belonging to the genus Steptomyces in a nutrient medium. Pharmaceutical compositions comprising FR109615 as an active ingredient are also described.
