The invention relates to a static micromixer comprising at least one mixing chamber and one guide component (1) which is connected upstream therefrom and which is provided for separately supplying fluids to be mixed or dispersed. Slotted channels (2a, 2b) running diagonal to the longitudinal axis of the micromixer pass through said guide component. The channels (2a, 2b) alternately cross without touching, open into a mixing chamber (4) and form a common outlet cross-section (3a) there. The aim of the invention is to configure the guide component (1), which improves upon the prior art, such that fluid pressure losses occurring in the guide component (1) are further reduced between the inlet side (2a, 2b) and the common outlet side (3a). To this end, the cross-sections of the channels (2a, 2b) enlarge, toward the inlet side, for at least a portion of the media flows to be mixed.

The invention relates to a method for production of a hydrogen storage material which comprises a metal hydride and a non-hydrogenated material and which is doped with a metal as catalyst, having the steps: a) mixing a catalyst precursor which contains the metal with the non-hydrogenated material and if appropriate a solvent, and stirring this mixture, b) heat-treating the mixture, as a result of which the metal from the catalyst precursor forms a composite with the non-hydrogenated material, c) mixing the composite with the metal hydride and grinding the mixture, whereupon the hydrogen storage material is obtained. The method according to the invention permits the use of inexpensive TiCl4 as catalyst precursor for production of a hydrogen storage material, the loading and discharging kinetics of which correspond to those of a hydrogen storage material which was produced using the same amount of the much more expensive TiCl3 as catalyst precursor.

The invention relates to a method for destroying harmful micro-organisms in liquids by means of short-time high-temperature heating, e.g. by ultra-high temperature heating of liquid foods such as milk or other liquids. In a first step, the liquid is heated in or by a micro-heat exchanger (1) with up to approximately 10000 micro-channels (3', 4') per cm3 heat exchanger volume, for an extremely short time and with a gradient of at least 200 °K/sec. In a second step, the liquid is kept at this temperature for an interval of ∫2 sec. In a third step, the liquid is cooled in or by a micro-heat exchanger of the same type for an extremely short time and with a gradient of at least 200 °K/sec.
