To this end, aqueous preparations are utilized which contain 1 to 70 wt. % of a copolymer from acid group carrying monomers and hydrophobic monomers. If desired, the aqueous preparations can contain one or more admixture components for improving the wet adhesive strength and/or for adjusting the open time. If desired, said preparations can additionally contain preservatives, antifoaming agents, dyes and/or other common auxiliary agents. The inventive preparations can be utilized as labeling adhesives for attaching water permeable hydrophilic substrates to hard surfaces.

The invention relates to a water-soluble or water-dispersible hot-melt-type adhesive based on at least one water-soluble, water-dispersible or alkali-soluble polymer serving as constituent (A), which is produced by graft copolymerizing olefinically unsaturated monomers onto polyalkylene oxides, containing: A) 20 to 80 wt. % of constituent (A); B) 0 to 70 wt. % of at least one polymer selected from the group comprised of polyesters, poly(meth)acrylic acid alkyl esters, acrylic acid homopolymers and/or copolymers and/or vinyl polymers; C) 10 to 70 wt. % of at least one resin; D) 0 to 30 wt. % of at least one softener; E) 0 to 3 wt. % of at least one common auxiliary and accessory agent, whereby the sum of the constituents total 100 wt. %. This hot-melt-type adhesive is suited for use in the labeling of recyclable or reusable hollow bodies. The hot-melt-type adhesive is completely separated from the material and dissolved in an alkaline washing liquor even at low temperatures.

According to the invention, the reaction product of colophonium and formaldehyde is used as a resin for producing hot-melt-type adhesives in order to improve the reusability of products containing adhesives, especially labelled bottles. The adhesive can be completely separated from the product in an alkaline washing bath. Said adhesive precipitates in a coarsely dispersed form and can easily be removed from the washing bath, e.g. by flotation.

The invention relates to a polyurethane adhesive based on polyurethane comprised of at least one diisocyanate and at least one low-molecular polyethylene glycol. The polyethylene glycol has a molecular weight up to 2,000 and the polyurethane has a degree of crystallization less than 20 %. The inventive adhesive can be applied by melting said adhesive or from an aqueous solution or dispersion. Surprisingly, the adhesive is not only suitable for polar plastic surfaces, but above all, it is also suitable for polyethylene and polypropylene surfaces and naturally for paper. The adhesive is preferably used for paper labels on polyethylene bottles.
